I am piggybacking on a thread on JI (crucify me). But I find it interesting.

    http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/J...Bengals-123009

"We won't lose this game,'' the wide receiver boldly declared before repeating himself. "We want it too bad.''

"Guys are serious about winning this game,'' Edwards continued. "Guys aren't talking about New Year's Eve or family. All guys are talking about is the playoffs, beating Cincinnati. I'm convinced that this team is 100 percent in. I don't think we can lose this game.''

Ok well he didn't flat say I guarantee we win but that is essentially what he is saying.

I just want him to catch some of these passes that Sanchez is throwing at him and I want him to race into the endzone and celebrate like a madman.

Shouldn't they feel like this for every game?

Seriously. It would have been nice to see this intensity for a few of the games we ended up losing.

Shouldn't Sanchez be the one guaranteeing the win so that if the Jets do win we can start making some Joe Namath comparisions.

When you go into quite a funk like they did mid season, you start doubting yourself and your ability, no matter how tough mentally you are.. There will always be doubt, now that you get a second life and you are the talk of the football world (have you seen the press coverage on this team this week) you start feeling a little bit more edgy and have a chip on your shoulder...
I actually think the jets will win this weekend regardless of who plays for how long. I have never been sold on the Bengals

No I want Sanchez shutting the fuck up and preparing to play.

If in 2-3-4 years he is a great QB, not throwing a pick every 16 throws or so, then he guarantee to his hearts content.

Easy to guarantee when you r going to play against jordan palmer instead of Carson plamer. This is most ungratifying playoff berth, we didn't earn squat. If Indy and cincy played their starters all game we would be 7-9. You just watch this team will get in the playoffs and go on the road and get blown out. I know being in the playoffs is all that matters but this playoff berth is a joke.

    1) Ryan Fitzpatrick? Might want to check the Bengals roster the next time you get a chance.

    2) Blown out? How many teams have blown us out this year??? In fact, out of our 8 wins so far, we've won 5 of them by more than 10 points (including 3 outright blowouts - Houston, Tampa Bay, Oakland) each. Out of our 7 losses, only two were by more than 10 points - @NE, @NO - and both of those were games that were very competitive and were only lopsided because of our rookie quarterback repeatedly turning the ball over in critical situations. We have the number 1 ranked defense and the number 1 ranked rushing offense . . . hard to blow out a team that controls the line of scrimmage the way we do on a consistent basis.

    3) This Playoff berth (IF it happens) is a joke??? So tell me, if we don't deserve to make the playoffs as a wildcard team in the AFC, which two teams do??? The Dolphins? They were just outscored 27-0 in the first quarter and half, AT HOME, IN THE BIGGEST GAME OF THEIR SEASON, AGAINST A TEAM WE DESTROYED. The steelers??? They have lost 5 out of their last 7 games, INCLUDING LOSSES to the Chiefs, Raiders, and Browns (oh my). The Texans??? WE kicked their asses up and down their own stadium (For crying out loud, our defense shut out their supposedly high-powered offense in thier own building) The Jags??? The Broncos??? I could go on . . . The Bottom line is, after falling to 4-6, we have won 4 out of our last 5 games. Yes, a ton of shit has gone our way, but the point is we have taken advantage of our fortuitous breaks. If we beat the Bengals on Sunday nigiht then we deserve to be in the playoffs as much as any other team in the NFL. It's just that simple.

Since when we are playing the Bills? I think with no gifts we would probably have finished the season 8-8... I hop we'll finish it 9-7 so it's not because of 1 game that we don't deserve to be in the playoffs!

PS plus... ok we might not have a good passing offense but we have a #1 running game... even if our defense doesn't close games it's still statistically no. 1! Those 2 things deserve to be in the playoffs... it's not like we are a mediocre team with no talent or capabilities whatsoever...

I think evereyone's expectation is that our team is composed of 11 Mannings on O and 11 Ray Lewis on D...

It's my opinion as a paying fan of the jets. I hate being handed something, I like working for it. I just feel like everybody n their mommas know the jets weren't supposed to be in the playoffs, they got handed a free berth like a charity. Do really think Sanchez can go into cincy in the playoffs and go turnover free against those two cincy corners? HELL NOOOOOO.

Ok I have heard about enough of this ignorant friggin drivel. Indy and Cincy didnt play their starters.? Guess what I happened to notice another team that didnt play their starters. The Jets dammit. Anybody else sick of hearing we didnt desrve to be in. Man it pisses me off. Did ya happen to notice that one of Indy's scores was right up the middle. Hmm suppose their is anybody there missing for us, . How many years has Manning been playing?. It wasnt like it was a friggin blowout when Manning went out . If We beat the Bengals team with what we are able to put on the field after losing 2 of our best guys, and starting a rookie Qb. We deserve to be in playoffs period. Other teams had the friggin chance just cause they blew it at the end makes no difference. Myself its another week of football that has meaning. How would you like to be a Giant fan watching the Jets play for their playoff lives on the last game on their home field. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA Love it

Not only do we deserve this playoff birth, but we will prove it by beating cinci's if and the varsity teams in back to back weeks. Now that's a gaurantee!

here's my take: there are only two ways to get into the dance.

Firstt, win your division. Some teams playing in weak divisions get in with an 8-8 record, or possibly even a losing record.

Second, the wild card ticket that pits you against EVERY OTHER TEAM in the entire AFC.

to win the division you have to beat out 3 teams.

to win a wild card you have to beat out 11 teams.

according to my math, we are over 3 times BETTER than NE!!!!
