Pretty interesting article and the most clear and concise explanation i've read of what Bowels defensive system is all about. I didn't see it pop up in TGG side news sidebar so I thought I would share. http://mmqb.si.com/mmqb/2015/08/05/nfl-new-york-jets-todd-bowles I remember how exciting it was to watch Ryan's defense those first three years and I believe this D may to top it.
Good article! Thanks for sharing it. Interesting that he thinks Decker is "mediocre." I thought that before last year, but I think he's a pretty darned good WR now. He didn't mention Amaro, Mauldin, or Jaiquan Jarrett, and with the way Jarrett has been playing in camp, he will earn some reps on the field, and could have a big impact. I didn't realize that Gilchrist was that highly thought of in the NFL. That was nice to hear. With the off season we had, with the improvement that Geno looks to make, and now reading this article which made me feel even better about things, it's hard not to get excited about the potential for this season. I just hope that Carpenter surprises a lot of people on this board, and that someone will step up and man the RG spot ably. If so, we could have a very fun and exciting year.
I'm stoked, and Bowles has a sick scheme, but the difference will mainly be the personnel in 2015. Let's not act like Rex called a simple defense.
Thanks for posting. Disagree with decker being mediocre. Decker is a good wr. It seems like that category gets downplayed and players are either great or below average. As for the defense. A gap blitzs might explain why they wanted to be sure harris was resigned. He is a pro at shooting the gap and should fit well in this scheme. coples, i think he under rates a lil. I don't think he will be a monster but he should be decent enough.
Great article and thanks for posting. Personally I felt it was very fair and not biased at all. It was refreshing to read. Everyone should give it a read
