I'm back up in Boston this weekend and I can't imagine watching the game any other way than with a bunch of other folks who bleed green and white in the heart of Pats country. My usual spot when I'm up here is the Joshua Tree in Davis Square but I'm thinking this game warrants a worthy sports bar in the heart of Boston. Let's pick a great spot and REPRESENT IN NUMBERS. I'm one of those GangGreeners who tends to like to watch the games with only a small group of diehards when I can so I can pay close attention and scream like a crazy but this game is just too big. Let's unite and give the Pats fans a little taste of New York! :jets:
BTW - There may be more Pats fans rooting for the Jets than a lot of people would think. The hatred for the Colts runs pretty deep around here. Plus, I think a lot of Pats fans don't like the idea of the Colts being mentioned along with the Pats as "team of the decade".
The Pats fans in my office still think the Jets don't belong there. They do however want us to beat the Colts. I'll be watching this game at home. Way too important to be out and about..
i'm in boston sunday, taking the family to blue man group at 2pm (got tickets a long time ago; if i could change them, i would. thank you sprint nfl mobile live!). name a place and i'll be there (a little late)!
I'm not there anymore, but usually I went to Sports Depot out in Allston. Good number of different fans.
oh man, if i didn't have my brother-in-law's wedding across the country, i would so be there. but then again, i don't want to jinx anything. every game, i've not worn my sanchez jersey, dvr'ed the first hour or two and watched the rest live by myself. not going to change that now.
Would love to do something with other fans, but I have watched the last 3 sitting on my sofa and eating hot dogs and tater tots during halftime with my husband, the Pats fan. Can't mess with that now.
Sorry not in Boston but I will be in West Palm Boca Raton area Sunday for Jet game. Can anyone suggust best Jet bar to watch it in??
I can only speak for myself, but this nicely sums up my rooting interests this weekend. I don't actually hate the Jets the way a lot of Pats fans do. And as a fan of football I've really enjoyed watching them play this postseason. Crazy thing is, I don't think you have a guy on that D who's any older than 28 or 29. As soon as the offense comes around a little over the next year or two, the Jets will be a scary good team.
Sports Grill near TD Garden We had 20+ rowdy, loud Jets fans (constant J-E-T-S chants) at the Sports Grill near the TD Garden last Sunday. It would be great if any Jets fans in the area could join us next Sunday to fill the place up! Its being organized via the Boston Area New York Jets Meetup Group on meetup.com, so check that out if you want. The Sports Grill address is 132 Canal St., Boston, MA.
The Pats have our back this time around. I was at a party last night (MLK Day, y'all) and was wearing my Jets fleece, and I had a couple Pats fans come up to me and go, "we normally hate you, but we fucking despise Peyton Manning, and we don't root for you in the SuperBowl, but please beat the Colts." I was shocked. How can you not like Peyton Manning?
Surprisingly this is true, I got many texts from my Masshole friends saying Go Jets and other stuff like that.
I think that the anti-Colts sentiment really kicked in after the AFC Championship game in which the Colts complained that their receivers were getting mugged (which I think they were to some degree) by the Pats' DB's. This led to a tightening up of the Pass Interference rules and to be honest, I think the Pats have struggled against the Colts ever since.
There is a place in Somerville called Old Magoons. Nice bar, huge screens and real chill. There is also always the sports depot in Alston.
