he sat out a few games before playing today, too.

cubs lead giants 4-3 now. bonds has all 3 Giants RBI.

bonds was the giants offense today, but it wasn't enough. nothing new there. their lineup when bonds is out is the worst in baseball.

Bonds homered tonight. One shy of the record.

0 for 2, ground out and fly out thus far

his fly out failed to ruin a big giants rally. 5 runs and they now lead the marlins 5-4

0 for 4, and that looks to be his last at bat.

you know he must've been pressing, because it'll look awfully suspicious if he doesn't play the road games, and he really doesn't want to tie or break it on the road (especially not in LA).

it's no coincidence that all the milestone homers came at home

Not sure what you mean by looking suspicious. I will be very surprised if he gets a single at bat on this road trip. There is no one on the planet who wants him to break this record anywhere but in San Francisco. Who is going to complain if he doesn't play?

because the commissioner can intervene if they do this. it happened when aaron was chasing ruth.

the giants could invent an injury, but it has to be plausible. they can't just sit their best player for a week.
