I had high hopes for Ramsey when we traded for him, but he just looks awful. I'd take bolly over him at #3 QB definitely. Cut ramsey.

I would have an upset feeling in my stomach right now if he cost us any more than a sixth round prick.

Let's be brutally honest, Rob. We could have kept Jay Feidler for peanuts, who had a crisp delivery (yeah... as innacurate at times, perhaps, as Ramsey) and saved what we spent for Ramsey!

In hindsight maybe keeping Fiedler would have been a good idea. But you cannot make decisons with full knowledge of what will happen in the future. Rather you have to weigh your options and balance your risk. At the time keeping two QB's coming off shoulder surgery was to carrying to much risk and simply made no sense. Picking up Ramsey even if he gets cut was a good move as it provided us with a healthy insurance option.

Fiedler's cobtract was worth more than Ramsey's, and he's not healthy enough to play yet

Sadly, you are absolutely right. The big issue with not keeping Fiedler was the fact that he was hurt. There was no way you cut Chad loose, and keep Fiedler, so that's why he had to go. I never agreed with Ramsey, but I liked the idea of a healthy QB, and this was before Clemens.

I honestly hope we keep Bolly over Ramsey.... but it would be more of an indication that the CS thinks this is a rebuilding year, but we all know that already anyway.

Rebuilding or not, why would you keep an inferior player?

This is all a facade. Ramsey will be the # 2 to start this season. Bollinger will either be cut, on the roster as a 4th QB like Adam Schefter from NFL network reported or traded. I think him starting next game is really more of a showcase for other teams to see.

While I agree Ramsey is a disappointment, there is no way that we could have kept Fiedler. We still have questions with one QB returning from shoulder surgery, imagine what it would be like with 2 QB's on the roster with bad shoulders. The value was there to pick up Ramsey as an insurance policy, but now with Clemens showing enough promise and will Bolly on the roster, Ramsey could very well be the odd man out. He just hasn't shown enough. I feel bad for the guy though... his career is basically ruined now that he can't beat out a guy returning from 2 shoulder surgeries, a rookie or a QB that's 5'8".

Honestly, Brooks has proven just about as much as Ramsey as a starter in the NFL... nothing.
