If I were the Giants, I'd shell out two first round picks for Boldin. They've got the picks (they likely will have a hijacked first from the Saints next season for scuttling Shockey). The Giants offense, with that D-line, the WR depth, Jacobs and Manning, will be set for the next five years.

They don't have to shell out anything. He is a FA.

According to rotoworld he's not a FA until 2011.

I thought they had a deal to release him after this season if they couldn't reach an agreement on a new contract and that is the only reason he didn't sit out.

Well, apparently not. I don't know where I hear that but the SB will obviously be his last game with AZ anyway.

I doubt Arizona releases him. And if they do, it will be very late in the offseason so somebody will eventually shell out picks for him. If i were the titans or the eagles i would easily give up a first and third rounder, maybe even a first and second rounder. He is better than any receiver in the draft.

Whatever deal happens with Boldin, I imagine it will require draft picks in this year, and conditionals in next year's draft.

I would take him in a heart beat either way.

Well, I've said that the biggest thing the Giants have to do next season is replace Burress. Now "replace Spags with someone who won't fuck everything up" is at the top of that list too, but this would still be pretty great.

If your Vilma trade turns the Giants' Shockey draft pick into a first rounder, that'd certainly give them some flexibility.

I'd love Boldin. No way we even get past first base with him, though.

Well, I'm not ready to label him the next Coles just yet, but this certainly does bring his character into question. I don't care if you had no receptions for no yards, if your team just won the NFC Championship, you're either celebrating or selfish.

I got pissed last summer with all the contract talk. I figured it was only a matter of time before he goes to the Cowboys or some other team I hate. Then I wouldn't like him anymore. The reverse of the Curtis Martin effect.

Many players get into arguments with coaches. Sometimes during games, sometimes at practice. But leaving the locker room early, being selfish, and seeming to not be happy about going to the Super Bowl is mind-boggling.

The Cardinals should trade him. Steve Breaston did just fine when Boldin was not in the lineup. Jerheme Urban is a solid 4th receiver who can move up to the 3 for a few games here and there. The key will be Early Doucet. I really liked Doucet in the 2008 draft and was hoping the Jets would get him. Fitzgerald and Breaston starting with Doucet as the slot receiver would be a very good coterie.

Can you see Boldin in Silver and Black. With a franchise Qb Jamarcus Russell throwing him the ball. Oh I can.

That might be the best spot for him. The Cardinals would likely prefer to send him to the AFC.

    In 19 games Russell has
    53.9 completion percentage
    2,796 passing yards
    6.4 yards per attempt
    15 touchdowns
    12 interceptions
    73.9 QB rating

This is the definition of a franchise qb.

I can see Boldin in silver and black for 2 seasons. The first season he gives an effort because he's tricking himself into thinking there's hope. The second he's aggravated and doesn't want to play for that team and demands a trade to a team that isn't run by an insane mummy. I'm sure he's licking his chops at the prospect of playing for the Raiders.

Lets see Raiders tackles were turnstiles for most of the year(until Mario Henderson seem to nail down LT position) Raiders had two head coaches. Three diffrent playcallers. Almost everyone of their veteran wrs ended up on IR. Raiders running game due to injury was never the4 force it was supopose to be. - BIG Blow was lost of FB Oren ONeal in preseason - dominating lead blocker who destroys anything in his way. Paul Mcquistan - dominant run blocker run who was lost very early. D Mcfadden was rather limited after second week with bad case of turf toe. ( Raiders had him healthy there is a godd chance they would have won AFc West this year)

NOw you look at all that and Russell clearly shown progress. He defintely a franchise QB who going to show how good he is when they get one more tackle to protect him.

    Russell proved Knapp right

In a conversation I had with Raiders offensive coordinator Greg Knapp early in the season I was curious about a few of things when it came to JaMarcus Russell.

But the main thing I wanted to know about was Russell's growth in the classroom. For every young player this is often the hardest area to grasp about the NFL. Knapp assured me Russell was doing fine in that area and that it would show in the second half of the season.

Here's the evidence that Knapp was right:

Russell's first seven games (before missing the Raiders eighth game with a knee injury)

    105 for 216, 48.6%, 1,289 yards, 6 TDs, 4 INTs, 69.0 rating

    Russell's final eight games

    93 for 152, 61.2%, 1,134 yards, 7 TDs, 4 INTs, 88.5 rating

Russell managed to get better even as he endured having three different play callers during the season.

He improved greatly in reading NFL defenses and finding secondary receivers. The question is will having a fourth different person call plays hurt Russell's progress.

This guy scares me. Any time you have someone that is much caught up in a personal dispute than the fact that they are headed for the Super Bowl...well then you clearly have someone that A) doesn't care that much about winning and B) has an inflated ego. I don't care how big an asshole that coach is. When confetti is falling from the roof and you just took one of the more unlikely paths to the super bowl in recent years, you should be happy.

He's a tremendous talent. But what's going to happen in a few years when that talent starts to erode and his ego stays the same?

I still think Russell is going to be a top flight QB. The Raiders coaching staff and lack of quality wide receivers has stunted Russell's development thus far.

    It's bonkers.

Boldin deserves to be traded to a turd team like the Raiders. Boldin enjoyed playing for the old crappy Cardinals of easy going country club coaches Dave McGinnis and Denny Green.

The new good Cardinals of tough guys Ken Whisenhunt, Russ Grimm, Todd Haley, and John Lott (Arizona's strength and conditioning coach; Jets fans of well aware of this guy as he held the same position with the Jets from 97-04) were not to Boldin's liking.

How did Randy Moss experiment work out down there in the blackhole?
He came out flying again once he got out of that shithole, btw. I am expecting exactly the same thing from Boldin if he does end up in Chokeland.
