Becoming the Dallas Cowboys offensive line coach. One more potential OC candidate gone.

Fans here probably soured on him after how shitty the OL was this year, but this guy coordinated some outstanding OLs for us (08, 09, 10). He is a good coach, good luck to him.

He didn't want an extension so no one should be surprised. Tony Sporano is now in line to take his place. Good move for the Jets

Terrible news, Cally was an excellent line coach.

The O-Line underperformed this year, plus he probably didn't want to stay knowing Shotty wasn't going to be fired.

It shouldn't be a surprise, at Tanny's year end presser it was clear BC wasn't returning, he wanted out.

Was to be expected. Wonder whos coming in to replace him though. If we end up getting a new OC maybe he will bring an OL coach with him.

I have read that Sparano wants to join Payton in NO, since they worked together in Dallas.

Idk. I don't know if I could see Tony co-existing with Rex. You could always sense a little disdain for him during the press conferences and interviews whenever the fins and jets would play.

Sorry to see him go. Unfortunately for us this whole thing is up in the air waiting to see what's going to happen to Schotty. That is a classy stand by the Jets but bad for business if they really want him gone. We might end up losing on a good OC as well as a good line coach. Doubt anyone of those mentioned would ever want to work under Schotty ( two steps removed from Head coach)

Disappointing to me. I think he would have been a great OC.

Schotty is not going anywhere. The Jets are going to have to re-assign him to do something else for the rest of his contract. He's not going to get an offer that pays him 1.6 million a year to OC for anybody and he's not going to get a head coaching gig in the NFL and that leaves the Jets on the hook for now.

Edit: it'd be really cool if the Jets made him an assistant for offensive quality control and had him analyzing the Jet's play calls next season. Would be fitting to have him watch an effective play-caller at work up close like that.

what do you think about moving him to college drafting/recruiting for one year, and away from calling plays?

Anything that gets him away from Sanchez and the offense in general is a positive move.

cleaning out Son of Marty's assistants and then Son of Marty

Hue, our new Assistant Head Coach-Offense gets to hire the assistants he wants to drive the Jets offense out of the ditch that Son of Marty has driven it into

If the Jets were to keep him, he would not get demoted. That wouldn't make any sense. If they were willing to demote him, they would be willing to fire him.
