I love that we addresed the RB situation (did as much as we could) but I am really concerned about the NT. What is the deal with Grady (gravy) Jackson? The GMEN had him in like 4 times and no offer? I really think we are in some BIG trouble in this area, any thoughts? whos out there?...do we see more 4-3 than 3-4? as a result

Give it some time. Cuts should begin soon. There are always a few gems that come available (thats how we got Kendell). I suspect that we will get someone before the season starts.

I think the problem with Grady is he's close to 400lbs by now!

I know preseason is just preseason, but I can't help but be impressed with the run defense.

I do think we need to add some depth to the position though.

    94 Titus Adams DT 6-4 305 1/28/83 R Nebraska

    95 Matt McChesney DT 6-4 290 11/6/81 2 Colorado

    63 Dewayne Robertson DT 6-1 317 10/16/81 4 Kentucky

    67 Kimo von Oelhoffen DT 6-4 299 1/30/71 13 Boise State

    61 Brennan Schmidt DT 6'2" 300 23 R Virginia

    93 Tui Alailefaleula DT 6'3" 350 23 R Washington

Out of those I would say that the most suitable player for NT is Tui Alailefaleula who did look comfortable against the skins. DRob could develope.
I would say we need one more big hole puncher.

Lets wait for the cuts, there's got to be some big men out there eventually. We did it with kendall 2 years ago now its time to snatch up another lineman.

Grady Jackson is overweight, at the end of his career, yet looking for a payday similar to what Big Daddy Wilkinson got a week or so ago from the Phish - which was $2 mill or so for the season - ain't gonna happen, especially from us -

I thought Big Daddy got about 1.3 mil. But whatever. I don't think that's unreasonable for a one-year deal. I definitely think NT was a bigger problem than RB, but we'll see what happens. I really hope we do something about it soon, tho.

If Titus Adams can work on his technique and put a bit more weight on he might be worth a shot. He had some nasty moves against the skins.

This seems to be our biggest glaring weakness right now. I'm confused as to why we haven't addressed it yet. Hopefully they have something up their sleeves.

I doubt we see much 4-3, all I remember seeing so far is 3-4, Nickle and Dime.

The biggest obstacle for grabbing Grady is not his weight (all reports suggest he's not as big a fat ass as everyone feared), but rather his salary demands which are more suitable for a Pro Bowl player of 29, not a guy past his prime.

That being said, I'd feel better about our 2006 defense his fat ass was wearing white with green piping.

I read the same thing...his weight was actually pretty good (for him that is...I think I read 340-350?).

It has to be money..or they just think they could wait for the cuts to take place and make a decision.

let's not forget we were interested in him before he signed with GB, so I'm pretty certain we are willing to accept him for who he is.
