Let me be the first ask for this bust to be sitting down asap. He get blown up on run plays every game and his pass blocking sucks. Give me Jones or Bender at this point. Plus the guy has no intensity at all. He is getting manhandled.
You have GOT to be kidding me! What is it w/ you people and WANTING Brick to be a bust and WANTING to criticize him every chance you get? How many sacks did he give up today? How many QB presssures did he give up today? How many times did he need help from a TE or RB? Now compare that to the rest of the line... He wasour best linemen today...deal w/ it.
That is why you don't spend a 4th Pick on a Project especially when it's your QB's blindside! I was against the pik then and still haven't changed my Mind... He's a Solid player but you don't go O-Line that early unless he's a Roaf/Ogden. Maybe he will get better and yes he struggles but he's not a Bust IMO (yet)
and hes started 19 games in his career, little early to be comparing him to two of the best Olinemen in the last 25 yrs. It takes time, not every player comes out of college and dominates, especially on ethier line.
80% of fans on TGG wanted Brick. Who else did you want? Vernon Davis hasn't exactly blown anyone away w/ his play.. Leinart? Ill reserve judgement till i see alittle more of KC..
Am I ready to bench him? No. But am I getting very very close to calling him a bust? You betcha. We all knew he couldn't run block well, but letting defenders come down across the line in front of him without even slowing them down is unnacceptable. And this pass blocking specialist doesn't seem to know how to hold his ground at all.
Good point. In fact, you could argue that none of the top 5 picks of last year's draft have been worthy of where they were picked. I understand that Young was ROY but I still don't think he will end up being a great QB.
He seems to make glaring mistakes, when a QB gets sacked it's because he got beat. When a running play gets blown up, it's cause of him. Not saying this is always the case, but it seems to happen a lot. The 4th pick should have been traded. Oh well, unless he makes huge improvements this year, this pick at #4 is a bust much like our wonderful NT.
Am I missing something? I watched Brick is extremnely closely today...and frankly I thought he had an outstanding game. Can you give me some examples? He didn't give up any sacks...pressure rarely game from his side?
did you watch the goddamn game? D'Brick held his own very well in the 2nd half against one of the best defenses in the league. In fact, we got beat up the middle more (cough-Mangold-cough) than we did on the left side.
He's talking about one specific play in which Ngata was lined up at RDE, and ran down the line unimpeded. He was Bricks guy on the play, and Brick just played him wrong.
holy shit. This is one of the worst threads i've ever seen. Clearly anybody who said d'Brick did bad did not watch the game. This is absolutely ridiculous. At this point people on the boards are just bashing him with no reason. He played pretty fucking well today against a great blitzing defense. In fact the whole O-line played well. The sacks they gave up were due to KC standing in the pocket too long. This thread is absolutely terrible and anybody who wants to bench d'brick after this game did not watch the game.
Exactly. We don't have enough quality O-linemen to start and yet you want to bench one of the starters.
DO you undertsand this fucking game? Please download it and watch him on every play in the game, please. Then, do the same for 3 other games today and tell me the differences you see. He is a second year LT, the hardest spot on the line, and he is playing with almost no TE help against some of the best D-lines and LBs in the league. What in the fuck do you expect? Jesus.....you're a joke
OK well to be honest, this is part of the reason I hate picking really high. because the guy GETS WAAAAAAAAAY to much money just for being drafted, and if he doesnt perform the fans and teams are ready to kill him (all be it, this is for a very good reason) if you cant touch a lineman before he blows by you, you suck and probably shouldn't even be playing, yet we have no one else to play, so in benching him we actually get worse! So we have no choice but to have faith because umm we have no one else to put our faith in.
Smartest thing ever said on TGG. This whole time we've had this battle at LG because both Clarke and Bender have played so well. Well, the solution is easy. Just start both of them. Why didnt we think of this earlier.
