    from the asbury park press

The team has also entertained thoughts of getting the 6-foot-5, broad-shouldered Graham more involved in the offense.

A punter lining up at tight end? It could happen, especially with Mangini's penchant for trying new things.

"We've worked on some of that stuff, and he has done some things situationally," Mangini said.

    wow...you gotta love ben graham

Nice article, I like the part about him kicking the ball over the river. As for him getting involved with the offense, I don't know if I would want to take the chance of getting our only punter hurt in that fashion, but that's just me. I'm sure they have some FG and Punt fakes in the playbook using his skills though....

not worth the risk. hes one of the best punters in the league, and although it would be entertaining to watch, what do we do when he gets injured?

This would be a huge mistake.

If he gets hurt, god forbid, who punts?

Your punter is sacred, especially if he's pretty good. Do not get him hurt.

Exactly, I think he would be a talented TE however we cant risk him getting hurt. Although I would like to see some more trick plays with him at Punter.

No way, dumb move. We have the good fortune of finding a dynamo punter and then we're going to give him "other" duties? I think not.

It's like having a Dr. who specializes in brain surgery and the next week you ask him to start implanting penis pumps on the side- there's just no logic....

Put Nugent back there to punt if he gets hurt....

NOT! haha thats funny. Graham is awesome to watch while punting, that 70 or something yarder in the air was amazing, ive never seen anything like that, i would however be pumped to see him in the offense. Im still waiting for him to put an austrialian style lickin' on a punt returner though.

If Nugent can't get a kickoff past the 10 yard line, how bad will he be at punting?

I don't see what the point would be. I'm sure he's a good athlete for a punter, but I don't think there's anything that he can do, that Chris Baker or our wide receivers can't. Not worth an injury risk.

I dont think anyone is questioning his toughness, just the chance the freak injury occurs we have got nothing left. Its too big of a risk.

Its not size, its the sheer pounding at full speed by guys who are ripped. No D-rob's in the AFL.

Not stronger but many of them are tougher(Theyre both tough). They have high arm tackles and they hit full speed without pads. Ive played football and its a tough sport but its not as tough as AFL from what games Ive seen in the AFL.

yES AFL guys are tougher and stronger than NFL guys, do you see them calling fair catch and runnning out of bounds or wearing protective gear? Do you see 300 lb obese men in that league? Why cant we try him on a fake field goal here and there, it will not be the first time it has been done.He can get a freak injury, just holding the ball or walking his dog, so freak injuries can happen to anyone in any circumstance. Our Punter is not our MVP .

You guys need to have these discussions when it is not 5am here in Oz.

All the Aussies are busting to see Benny do something/anything other than punt. While the risk of injury is there it is no different to the risk to any player. But I understand that he is the only punter and Nuge probably couldn't punt the dew off the grass.

As a footballer first, in a tough code, i would say Ben is up for anything.

Well the thread was about using him on offense, not with trick plays on special teams.

I say getting him in on a few plays would be great. He played in the AFL, so hes gotta be tough, and if a freak injury happens, hey, The Wheel weaves as the Wheel wills. No one ever accomplished anything without rolling the dice.

Shift out of punt formation, Brad Smith under center, Graham split left or right as TE.
