Peyton Manning a nominee for Player of the Day?!?! http://www.nbcsports.com/playeroftheday/index.html Isn't it bad enough that EVERY OTHER commercial has Peyton hatching out of a football, or making pancakes with his family, or getting a melon signed, or pimping a cellphone in a wig and a moustache?! Isn't it bad enough that the NFL redrafts rules to fit Peyton's game and to soothe Colts' whining?! Isn't it bad enough that the networks won't be satisfied until there is a Manning v. Manning Superbowl?! Now, we're taking games Peyton's pedestrian games - a game where he had only one notable drive - and we're nominating him for honors?! Enough already! And, in other news, the guy who's actually winning this poll looked pretty flippin' good.
It's ridiculous how different things would have been (in national news) if the Jets would have won. It could have easily been Pennington's face on that poll, hell, even Mangini's. Everyone loves Peyton Manning. Everyone loves chokers. Oh, and by choker I mean that he has the highest expectations every year, he always has a hell of a team around him, he plays in a friggin dome in the playoffs, and still can't win 'the' big game.
moss made a hell of a play to win that game. i want to know wtf that safety was doing on that play. he came flying past moss and the cb and went into the sideline. the nfl sucks peytons ass. i hate the fact that i see him all the time on commercials, and then listen to the media kiss his ass all the time. at least when david stern was blowing jordan, jordan at least was a winner...
For the sake of comparison only. Peyton Manning____21/30__217__1__0 Chad Pennington___17/23__207__1__1
This was posted after the week One snubbing of Pennington. Then Manning wins week 2. Ugh. That was NOT PI on Miller. Funny thing is that they did the exact same play right before as if that was supposed to be when they get the call but didn't cause the throw was off. It wasn't PI @ the game It wasn't PI after watching the review It wasn't PI when I rewatched it @ home. But that said. They had no TO's and we allowed them to march down the field while getting OOB along the way. That is OUR fault.
I'm sick of the Manning wankfest as much as the next guy, but he DID lead the Colts on 2 late scoring drives where they needed a TD both times and got it. He shouldnt be player of the day(Moss for sure), but he played well when needed that being said he'll still never win a ring
those drives had more to do with the way the recievers were defended than with him (aside from the td throw off the back foot to the back of the ez where that dude caught it. that throw was money). or LB's and DB's were playing some over zone there, and allowed their wr's to have a 7-10 yd cushion. i see no purpose in not jamming them at the LoS. even so though, the defense really fell apart in the 4th qtr. first time all season....
Ahh just another sucking up by this league to the most over-rated player in the league not named Shockey. Like said in an earlier post those 2 drives where more hte result of poor defense than Manning making things happen. If they stop the run it's Chad up there enough said....
He did lead TWO late TD drives and after all the momentum swung and the Stadium was going nuts he led Indy down for the GW TD w/ no TOs w/ just over 2 mins. It's not always about #s, he could have thrown for 600 yds in that game if they didn't run so much, he toyed w/ the Jets defense.
