Im curious what "bad" teams you think have what it take to turn things around over the next 2-3 years. Not gonna win a superbowl or anything, but at least have a chance to compete. Really like the things Seattle did at the draft. They got a great HB mix now for almost nothing, got a play maker wideout in Tate, a great safety in Thomas, strengthened their OL, and some solid players from last year (ala Curry) I think this team could turn it around. What other bad teams do you see turning it around soon based off moves theyve made recently ?
Detroit Lions without a doubt. If you look at their roster, they have a solid young team on both sides of the ball. I expect great things from them this year. They're my NFC team, too.
San Francisco...if they can get a QB. Whether that's getting Alex Smith to play to his abilities or another QB via trade., I think they could do some damage in the west.
With another solid draft I think the Lions can make a nice progress... Also the 49ers are getting really strong since Singletary took over. Even the Raiders are finally looking like a football and not an olympics team... but their dealing away next year's first rounder was atrocious...
Detroit look like they're finally heading in the right direction. And, with Favre eventually retiring and the Bears perpetually being average, they could actually win that division in another year or two, given the 4th place schedule.
Oh I def think the 49ers are a force to be reckoned with as well. They strengthened their OL got a great ground game and pretty much stole Blount in the draft. With the Cardinals crumbling I see the 49ers as the favorite to win their division this year
With Gore, Tate and Coffee I don't know if Blount makes the team... but boy will they run the ball tough...
Kansas City Chiefs - I'm calling it right now. They'll be terrible again next season, but I have a feeling they'll be a pretty good team in 2011.
With how much passing problems they have I could see them becoming a better ground and pound team than us. If they continue to focus on their offensive line I think it might just be worth it for them to go into a season with 4 HBs. You could do some serious serious rushing with that bunch of backs.
Why...? I think they made a very solid pick in Berry but then they reached for McCluster and Arenas... drafted another FS in the later rounds, got a blocking TE and a project at OLB... They have two very good coordinators but their HC is an asshole and imo Scott Pioli is a total failure (at least draft and talent evalution-wise).
I gotta say the Detroit Lions...they've put together a pretty good offensive squad, and their DL looks good also.
Detroit and Washington in 2010. Oakland and K.C in 2011. The 49ers were never bad, they have been on the cusp for a few years now and just can't seem to put it together. I think they get it done this year and finally make the playoffs at 10-6.
I think the Niners will actually win the NFC West, which is pretty much a Rec league. They've got some good defensive playmakers and if they can keep the turnovers to a minimum they'll will quite a few games, I'd say. Plus Singletary's an awesome motivating coach, with or without pants.
They just have a lot of good young players to build around. The coaching staff is one of the better all-around staffs in the league. I don't think they reached on McCluster either.
Yeah, but this is like his 8th offensive scheme or something...it may take some time for him to adjust.
