I have been asked to compile some questions . . . from die-hard Jets fans, that will be asked of G.M. Mike Tannenbaum on his new TV show "1st and Goal" with Mike Tannenbaum. The show airs this Thursday on SNY at 4:30 p.m. and then every Thursday throughout the season. So here is your chance. Respond to this link with a question for Mike T, and they will choose a few and use them in the show.
I'd like to find out how aggressive they're going to be in pursuing a free-agent feature back next year. I really don't know who might be available, but we're basically looking for a type of situation similiar to what Parcells did in prying C-Mart away from the Pats in 98.
If he had a shot at Quinn, Adrian Peterson, and Calvin Johnson in next years draft, who would he take?
This is sort of like the same question that was asked first, but how aggresive will the jets be in the offseason with free agents?
The team had many areas that needed to be addressed, and it will take more than one offseason to do so. However, was there any position that you wanted to address this offseason through the draft/FA, but for whatever reason, could not? Or not to the degree that you would have liked to.
Asking Tannebaum a question is like asking the magic eightball. I could give you his answers to any of the previously posted questions. "We will exhaust any and all avenues to find football players that we feel fit into our system. If that involves FAs, draft picks, trades, whatever, we will carefully explore it."..... Mr. T. is the only person I know who makes Mangini look vociferous. Save yourself the experience of watching paint dry and ask your questions here http://www.creamy.org/eightball/index.cfm
Ask him why the Steelers have been so good for 30+ years. What about that franchise has made them winners 4 years out of 5 and a contender for the super bowl every year? Then ask him what the plan is to move the Jets into that category for the next 30.
Would he be willing to discuss the moves the Jets made or tried to make on draft day now that it's over? Did they really try and get Bush? Did they really try and trade up their 2nd 1st rounder to get Lienart? What about the moves in the 3rd round? Who did they talk to, what offers were thrown around?
So I asked the magic 8-ball if the Jets were going to be aggressive in acquring free agents next offseason and it told me - "No chance"
Ask him if Bradway got his coffee order correct the first time, or if Bradway traded a carton of half & half and future considerations for vinegar and a sugar cube out of the gate. On a less serious note, ask him how he will spend the cap room in 2006 (accelerate some payments to lessen the load on the '07 cap) or whether we need the room in anticipation of Penny hitting incentives, needing to pick up a player midseason, etc.
Thats a good question that I would like to hear. What exactly happened with the Bush/Leinart possible trade-ups. Also, what was the deciding factor in taking Brick over Leinart.
Ask him Why the JETS continually let our Best young Players leave because they don't want to pay them Yet, Re-sign 30 yr old RB's and 40 yr Old QB's instead. Then ask him if he's going to keep that Logic now that Bradway's gone
