Hey guys, love the boards first of all, great find. My question is with the Super stud DE Mario Williams going to the Texans, does this make us the leading canidates for RB Reggie Bush? 1) Houston - Super Mario 2) New Orleans - Do they really need Reggie Bush with Deuce? 3) Tennessee - Vince Young is their guy? This leaves us! This is like Michael Jordan to slipping to #3 in the 1984 NBA Draft... But I seriously hope Tennessee doesnt take him, if so how costly would that win over Buffalo in week 17 be? WOW I would be upset. Thoughts?
We are not the front runners for Bush, New Orleans is until they trade that pick. There is just no way you can pass up on a player like Bush, and the Texans will be haunted of this for years.
Funny because I was saying that during the game! Herm and his righteous BS may have cost the JETS their future.
The Saints should draft Bush. McAllister has a nice contract but is coming off an injury and may never be a dynamic runner again, so adios. Bush would electrify that team and would be a shining star in that city. With that said, I hope the Saints do a very Saints-ish thing and pass on Bush.
Correct, horrible move, I would think with all the horrible loses they had last year, Bush was their guy. It seemed like they were tanking. You can;t tank for Mario Williams to be honest. Even if we have to give up another pick or two with the #4, if it provies us with a player like Bush, I am all for it. This Williams to Texans is a stunner and gives the Jets 2nd life, they need to take advantage because they just got the opportunity to take advantage!!!!!! please dont let us down in 16 hours New York!
The Saints could use Bush, but odds are they will auction him off. Jets, Packers, 49ers and Cardinals could all be interested in trading up.
Crazy..crazy...we can't mortgage the future for this player...if he falls to us...trade the pick for a king's ransom.....
let the other fools give up multiple picks for a part-time player. he's the backfield version of santana moss, except he'll get hit more often.
The thing is the #4 pick is probably going to make difference for a trade because I see Saints taking D'Brick or AJ Hawk now....and if somehow they get #5 pick, one of them won't be there or say a #7 with SF #4 is looking very good right now, but remember this is the Jets and they usually let us down by not doing what most fans believe is the right move. Hopefully they show some balls and make a gutsy move.
If we want him we could have him. Other teams don't have the chips to make the move. That said I don't think we do it because New Orleans will probably ask too much.
And get some fat tub TACKLE over a franchsing playmaking superstar talent like Bush? He can be our Tomlinson and change this team around by building around a superior talent like he is.
According to Ed Werder, Bush is #1 on their draft board and the only way they pass on him is if they trade the pick. If they don't, Bush will be their choice. I think they trade it though.
1. Bush is not a part-time player. Experts don't even compare him to Barry Sanders, they compare him to Gale f'ing Sayers. You should feel humbled to even have a remote chance to watch him play for your team. 2. We are the ONLY players if the Saints want Brick, and ALL reports have talked about Brick or Mario for them. Well, Mario is gone, and we can tell them we plan on taking Brick if they trade with Green Bay or the 49ers. 3. We have 5 day one picks. We can package 2 of them plus a 2nd or 3rd round pick next year and still have 3 more picks on day one. We're in a unique situation, the perfect situation really, to make just this kind of move.
thats the thing, if jets put nice package reggie bush is theres. show some guts, this team has been very conservative for years and have been in medicority at best for years now. i want a superstar stud like tomlinson, randy moss, peyton manning, etc etc a big name you know, havent had that
John Clayton just said on ESPN that Bush's agent is trying to get the JETS to move up to take Bush!!!!
John Clayton just said on ESPN News that the next likely move by Buch's camp is to try to get the NY Jets to trade up to get him at 2. He said that he doesn't see the Saints drafting Bush and they also would not like to get out of the top 5 and lose the chance at either Ferguson or Hawk.
