Anyone watch NFL Network's documentaries about the history of the AFL?

    They're quite interesting, especially for us younger fans not old enough to know what the game was like pre-merger. Rex even appears in it a couple of times.

    They are amazing. I mentioned in another thread that I DVR'd them when they originally aired and have saved them ever since.

    A big thrill was watching it with my Dad when he visited. It was before my time, but he lived it as a fan. It's a fantastic show that every NFL fan should watch.

    Amazing series.

    Crazy Al Davis was right in that they were in route to surpassing the NFL as a league.
    i think they merged a few years too soon, and gave up more than they had to in concessions as a result. They could have hammered the NFL into a more mutual merger.

    There should be 2 leagues today under 1 governing body, similar to baseball.
    American Football League and National Football League, playing under a Professional Football League institution.

    The color and quality of the re-mastered footage is outstanding. I enjoyed the Broadway Joe segments.

    Crazy how most of New England was at one point NY Giants fans!
