Anyone else notice the change in Darnold from quarter 1 yesterday to

Quarter 2 and the rest of the game?

    Or was it just me?

They opened the game with those punts barely challenged Jacksonville's defense then in the second quarter Darnold began to throw the ball downfield more, his body language changed, the way he handled the huddle changed, the look in his eyes.

His look & demeanor changed from a rookie to almost like a veteran.

I'm hopeful to see if he builds on that during this homestand.

Bowles has the clamps on the offense because he got spooked by the turnovers. When we went down big he had no choice but to let Bates open it up.

I’d imagine we see the same thing every week until Bowles changes (lol) or is fired.

In that case Darnold has to speak up (to Bowles not to the press like fake leader Adams).

As the franchise QB he has clout.

That is who Sam is. He has no value to the Jets as a Neil O'Donnell clone. And he really cannot play like one. Sam takes riss. But the rewards usually outshine the risk.

It feels like they have the clamps on the offense because the oline sucks and there isn't any time for plays to develop down field.

We should take these games against these top notch defenses with a grain of salt.

That should be unacceptable. They have known for the last 2 years this was going to be a problem. D'brick and Mangold retired so what do the Jets dead brain trust do? They draft more defense because they truly want that lockdown 1976 Steel Curtain defense. Good luck with that. Free agency has been around under this faulty regime for the last 4 years. What are their big signings? Defense and they still can't stop anyone at all. When will these clues trigger a Johnson that these guys are useless? Whatever monies the Jets paid Ron Wolf and Charlie Casserly they should take them to court and get it back.

I enjoyed watching him play that way.

Sure he almost threw some picks he also almost threw some TDs.

I DON'T CARE ABOUT MY QBS TURNING OVER THE FOOTBALL AS LONG AS he throws more TDs than ints.

Few QBs threw as many picks as Brett fewer QBs have thrown as many TDs as he has. I loved watching Brett play.

Vs a elite jags D he was able to make some nice plays, could have had a lot more yards if penalties didn't negate half of the jets big gainers. He also had a few ints dropped in his favor. But he looked much better then he did in the Cleveland disaster.

While the numbers don't reflect it, I do think he gets better every week.

I went out of my way to support and believe in Mac with his rebuilt, but the lack of strength in the OL is wearing very thin with me. Sam has no shot. We have put all our eggs in the defensive side of the ball, for which TB and KR have done shit, not to mention less than stellar play by Lee and others. In my view, the combo of MM and TB is running completely out of air speed.

He has said it himself the past few weeks. He has had to learn that it can be a game of field position. But I dont think he likes that and also I think our offense is painful to watch and very very predictable. he has no time back there and the receivers are just not getting open. But I thought we would play a bit more dink and dunk. All these laterals to the Split running back are predictable and its no wonder he likes going to Enunwa who can run a route and get open unlike Anderson and Kearse.

Sam has looked better each week and the team around him has looked worse. He can't say it publicly, but I bet he feels like most of us fans have the past few weeks. He is a smart guy. I think Long is a pretty good Center, and Winters is a good Right Guard, but Beachum, Shell and Carpenter? Not so much. I am not sure if it is possible to replace 3 starting O-lineman in 1 off-season, but that would be great.

The trenches are where we need the most work. With the Draft and the money we have in Free Agency I would hope we can get two good linemen in at least. And one pass rusher on the defence.

Great observation, which unfortunately goes unnoticed by those that want Darnold head already. We are in desperate need of better ownership, NFL knowledgeable leadership and competent coaching. These owners don't really comprehend what it is to build a football dynasty, they only give two shits about making the franchise profitable. Chris is having fun, while the true Jet fans are sick to their stomachs.
