Seriously, this guy seems really like a huge class act who's in football for all the right reasons (as he said, he plays to play, not make money). He seems like he has a great work ethic, he seems like he already loves being on the Jets (only 1 of 2 rookies to sign) and loves the fans (his J-E-T-S chant at the draft), and he's an athletic beast (only player other than Moss and Calvin Johnson to be 6'4"+ and run at least a 4.30 at the combine). I REALLY like this kid, and I honestly believe he will be the first or second biggest steal in the entire draft (Burfict). Am I the only one who's more excited about Hill than Tebow, Coples, any of the rookies, or really anyone else? I think this kid has the potential to be not just good, but GREAT, and I say that about almost NOBODY. From every report so far, it seems like this kid's work ethic is top-notch. People may just think I'm crazy and I'm seeing Hillucinations, but I really think this kid is something special.
That's all well and good, but let's wait til he actually makes some plays first. I'm high on him as well, but to say he's my favorite Jet? Not yet..
Well, I have multiple favorite players, but I mean he's my favorite newcomer. My favorite player is David Harris. Harris is a humble player who's one of the most underrated LBs in the NFL, he keeps his mouth shut and just plays, and he just plays the LB position as (I feel) it's supposed to be played. I mean, obviously I'm not even remotely close to as good as him, but I play the same style Harris does, so I try to emulate him every chance I get.
Go back to draft night and read some of the FIRE from dumass TGG fans aimed at Tanny when Tanny moved up to draft Hill!!! But I'm with you Sir. I said it then. After Hill makes his first 40+ yard catch, he will pull defense away from Tone, Keller, & Greene, giving Sanchez and open target in 2 seconds or less. Which means Wayne Fucking Hunter will win the Comeback Player of the Year Award.
one thing that sticks out to me is that this is a guy who could have left gt or not even gone there but did even though he knew he wouldnt get 150 balls a year. he loves to block and seems to be a pretty tough guy. time will tell but he seems like a guy who is easy to root for.
^Yup, exactly. Love his attitude, and I agree that after hearing more about him, I think he'll be our best pick. OFWGKTA, FUUUUUU fftopic: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vk_O3yhLbMA
No, I'm not trying to overrate him or put him in Canton or anything, I'm just saying that this kid's ELITE athleticism and his work ethic is a formula for success.
So was Charles Rogers, Mike Williams, Ted Ginn, Dwayne Jarret, Matt Jones, Rashaun Woods, Mike Jenkins, Reggie Williams, Tyrone Calico, Ashley Lelie, and Darrius Heyward-Bey. Just relax for a couple months and wait 'til he plays some NFL snaps, huh?
It's always a beautiful thing when elite talent meets hard work. Hill's comments are making me optimistic but I'm trying to reign it in. Since he's a rookie, I'm expecting a pretty slow start in production this season. Hopefully, the coaching staff will just leave him out there because his speed alone should command a safety to stay back there.
Absolutely thrilled with the pick. Physical freak meets hard work = elite talent. Don't know how he was still on the board.
