Could we get him? Would he be a good fit? Guy is athletic as all hell and the Packers let him walk because they didn't want to pay the 10 MM they'd owe if they kept him.

We need to adress other areas of the front 7 before even considering ILB. And even then, I'm fine with Westerman as the third ILB behind our solid starters. Pass on Hawk.

And there's already a thread about this piece of trash.

Hawk isn't that good. He's certainly not better than Scott or Harris.

You do realize he led the SB Champion Packers in tackles...I know he's about to resign with GB, but I could see him teaming with Harris inside allowing Scott to slide outside.

no. Scott is not an OLB, he is the perfect compliment to Harris. He is the fullback of our defense, his whole job is to be Harris lead blocker. When Scott is knocking fullbacks out, Harris is free to run untouched into the wholes and take out the RB's. Scott is one of the best, if not the best in the league at his job. Scott doesn't just take on the blockers, he has the added ability to shed the blocks and make plays himself, so very few in the league have the ability to do that. Scott is what we need in this defense, and he is absolutely not and OLB in

Didn't watch to many Ravens games (when Rex and Scott were in Balt) did you? Scott played both positions.
If the Jets had a healthy Jenkins or a better quality NG, then they wouldn't need Scott to clear the lanes for Harris. Its because Pouha needs help in the middle that Scott is stuck there.
Scott is very athletic. If the Jets had another high quality MLB, then Scott could absolutely slide outside. They don't, so he can't.
