It's being called a "significant injury"

    That confirms it.

Every Cardinals fan has committed suicide in the past week and a half. Nick Punto is also out for 2-3 months because of hernia surgery.

Maybe they want to trade for Perez.

Just looking over the cardinals staff, they can survive if they go out and grab one of the better FA pitchers left (Kevin Millwood). They still have Jamie Garcia and Carpenter, two very formidable starters (Carpenter being elite, Garcia being solid). No matter how you look at it though, it's a huge loss.

If they have to give more work to Kyle Loshe, they are done. They pretty much have to sign Millwood now the more I think about it.

Dammit! Not looking good for us Cards fans. If he needs Tommy John surgery (looks like that's the concern), he'll likely miss some of next year too.

Sounds like he's going to need Tommy John surgery.

Likes like the Cardinals season is just getting better and better. Reds and Brewers look to battle for the division now.

Fuck he's one of my keepers...guess he gets dumped. Fortunately still have Tommy Hanson and Josh Johnson. Crazy to think that at one time I had Johnson, Wainwright, Hanson and Felix. Traded Felix and a non keeper for Carlos Gonzalez and Robbie Cano when Cano was in a slump and right before Gonzalez went insane. Somehow I still finished in 8th out of 12 teams. Looks like Corey Hart gets to wear his sunglasses at night for me again this season.

Surprised Millwood is not a Cardinal yet, they really are in a bad position with the starters they have now on the roster.

Haha, I typed Kevin Millwood into Google, and a Bleacher Report article was on top of the list comparing Millwood to Wainwright and how it would be a terrible signing. Right BR, they could just grab a #2 starter this late in the season.
