@SI_PeterKing RT @NickSpano: AThomas to #Jets possibly due to Pace injury or gonna go Taylor/Westerman? ... Rex Ryan told me Adalius won't call them back.
about 1 hour ago via TweetDeck

Which means the Jets obviously shown interest in him.

Then Adailus most recent comments to King "Just got off phone with Adalius Thomas. Contradicted what I heard from Jets. "I definitely want to play. There must be a miscommunication.""

Maybe its me, but just putting the puzzel pieces together it sounds like Adailus Thomas to the Jets sounds incredibly likely?

Figured this would be better off here than the Jets Twitter page.

The only reason he wouldn't be signed is if Rex and co. thinks he is done. If they think that we probably don't want to see him playing anyway.

One of the main reasons I was always in favor of giving him a shot was that he had his best career years in Baltimore playing on Rex's defense. Sure, he was a huge dissapointment in New England. But I'm a big believer in certain players fitting into certain systems but not others. Even if Pace's injury turns out to be minor and he is only out a few weeks, I still wouldn't mind giving Adalius a shot as a rotational guy.

If Pace isnt ready for the start of the season and the Jets sign Thomas I cant see him being anymore then a backup to Taylor. He would be joining the team really late.

Why not? Bring him in and if he looks like shit, cut him.

Sign him. Seems pretty low risk while Pace is out.

Taylor is our LOLB, A Thomas is coming in to play ROLB behind Pace.

Since B Thomas isnt much of a pass rusher id expect to see Taylor and A Thomas on the field at the same time.

Although supposedly Rex said Taylor should be playing 100% of snaps now. So Taylor could be Paces replacement, and AThomas would rotate behind BThomas on the other side for blitzing situations

Pace will be out for one game, why would we need Thomas, for ONE game?

It's not just for one game. It's more about depth than anything.

Where did you see one game? It's possible he could miss a few games. Our schedule starts off pretty tough, and it's important we get off to a good start.

I havent seen anything about Pace only missing ONE game. Just "a couple of weeks"

And I would assume that seeing your starting OLB out and suddenly realizing youre in a bind makes ya think twice about our depth. Our defense obviously will have to carry this team, and having 35 year old Jason Taylor, the poor pass rushing BThomas, and Pace injured might make you want to add another to the bunch.

Plus its not like were trading for him, hes just sitting there for the picking

A foot injury may not sound serious but I can assure you that it can be very serious. No one really knows anything other than a casual "few weeks" remark by Rex.

Dude.. Adalius is 33 and has never been as good as the experienced Jason Taylor. I don't think he is even remotely as good as BThomas right now. It's good to have depth, but at what cost? I don't think it would really benefit us at all, I think he is done. It's about what Rex thinks though, we'll see.

I don't think we have money to pay Thomas. I'd rather see Revis signed first.

That sounds pretty but in reality most players in Rex's D are interchangeable.
While they may be listed in one position they are often used in multiple/hybrid positions.

    ie..Ellis & Gholston @ DT etc..

Rex is a Mad scientist so I wouldn't be too quick to say: X Player goes here

    Yeah I know.

I see Taylor being the likely replacement simply becasue B. Thomas isnt a good pass rusher. Rex and Pettine are going to want somebody out there who can get pressure on the QB.

    I think it's a money decision.
