Gunther would you be for drafting Vernon at #4? I don't think it is so crazy. Like you said he is a MONSTER!

If D'Brick is gone, I pick Davis at #4 and don't think twice about it.

Even with Super Mario Williams on the board? I tend to agree now, though my opinions are changing every minute while I watch and read about these players. This draft is super deep and strong.

He's a beast... That FSU play is incredible, the UVA one wasnt as impressive because they were trying to strip him. I dont think it's a good idea to take him at 4, but I sure wouldnt be furious and we would all be pretty entertained...

I would draft him at four....
    My reasons are:
    1. He should automatically be the best pass catcher on our team. Our WRs are tough, but no team game plans for them.
    2. There is a good chance that Mario might be gone before we get to the 4th pick. With that in mind, I would like someone who makes the other team game plan for them.
    3. Bush could be that player, but I'm not spending that much for a RB when there are others available. Bush is special, but so is Vernon and getting someone like him does not come often. There will always be good running backs. Maybe not special, but good enough to get the job done. Vernon Davis has the potential to be better than all that have come out in the last 5-7 years. I think that is saying something..

Great video. I wouldn't mind at all trading down a few spots and grabing him.

wow, that video was unreal....i'm sure all prospects have videos like that, but that was just nuts....i'll take him at 4, the guy can catch, he can run, and he can break tackles like no other. The guy is physical, and from what i've read he is very coachable. He would be a good fit on our team. Cotchery and McCareins would get more nice looks if we had Davis wreaking havoc. If we draft him and he's a bust I will not mind at all, because his upside is worth the risk.

Well, we do need a guy with dreads on our team

He can probably play a mean OLB too

pretty exciting to watch. Would be a playmaker for us for years. If we trade down, he is the guy to grab. At 4 it still may be a reach.

Vernon will look great in green and white. I think we are going to picking him either at #4 or #6 after a trade with the SF. He is a monster!

S.F. already has a VERY GOOD TE.

This guy reminds me of a S.Sharpe (Without the Horseface)

Actually, He has the Receiving skills of Johnny Mitchell but looks a lot more solid.
Anyone know how his Blocking skills are?

He has the upper body strength to be a good blocker but I don't know how he was in college.

He looks good no doubt, but He only had two real highlights. They were impressive nonetheless, I am still weary of workout warriors.

I prefer D'Brick at 4, but would love VD if D'Brick wasnt available. Kellen Winslow Jr was drafted at 6 and i think VD is a better prospect(ceiling wise. KW2 was more of a complete TE, but KW2 never ran a 4.3 and single handedly run over entire defenses). I know alot of people have a prob drafting a TE that high, but I view him as more than just a TE. Hes a Tight End/ Wide Receiver hybrid. You would have no problem drafting a WR who ran a 4.3, weighed in over 250 lbs, and has amazing hands at the 4 spot, because WRs with less talent than him have gone at 4 or higher(just look at the last 6 drafts).

Davis will NOT be our best option at #4. If we trade down and Davis is still our best option, I say we trade down AGAIN and get more picks. The Jets do NOT need a tight end compared to all the other problems this team has.

Hes not a workout warrior. He was highly productive last year (800+yds) and teams double and triple teamed him because he was Maryland's only offensive weapon. He was regarded as a 1st rd pick all yr long. All because he hit a homerun at the combine doesnt make him a workout warrior. A workout warrior is a relative nobody who drastically improves his stock only through the combine, much like Bryan Thomas and Mike Mamula.

    Agreed
    2003 WRs in 1st Rd.
    2nd pick Charles Rogers
    3rd pick Andre Johnson
    17th pick Bryant Johnson
Anquan Boldin was the 54th pick in the 2nd Round

Andre Johnson has so far only lived up to billing

    2004 WRs in 1st Rd.
    3rd pick Larry Fitzgerald
    7th pick Roy Williams
    9th Pick Reggie Williams
    13th Pick Lee Evans
    15th Pick Michael Clayton
    29th Pick Michael Jenkins
    31st Pick Rashaun Woods

Larry and Roy were doing there thing in college and they have lived up to the press clippings. I've heard many good things about the others, but so far it has not translated into too much production. I believe some in the 2005 will be better as time goes on, but it is obvious that it is not a certainty.

    2005 WRs in 1st Rd.
    3rd pick Braylon Edwards
    7th pick Troy Williamson
    10th pick Mike Williams
    21 Matt Jones
    22 MArk Clayon
    27 Roddy White

Out of all these WRs that I have mentioned, I would probably pick Vernon over all of them, because he will have the advantage no matter what the situation. Matt Jones is another one because of his speed and size... You can't teach that....And that is why the Jaguars took a chance on drafting Matt Jones. You can't teach speed and size, and they know that if he pans out, he is a mis-match nightmare for any Defensive player.

I know but Mercedes Lewis was regarded as the best TE in the draft after the season, when you go from a pick in the late first round to a potential top five after the combine then it smells a bit to me like a warrior
