So what exactly is the moral of the story? 10 years from now, Robert Saleh and Nate Hackett will be successful in other places? Is this kind of like the Geno Smith timeline?
Well with all due respect to the Jets (for once), it appears as though they finally made an intelligent decision and hopped on this train to hire from this tree and finally get a bright offensive mind in the building alongside a defensive head coach. But then they kamikaze’d their own decision because Zach Wilson fucking sucks and didn’t like him. They then hired a recently fired head coach to run the offensive after he was one of the more unmitigated disasters in the league that almost ran a HOF quarterback into the ground with his offense. But at least Rodgers and Hackett probably have fun joking around in practice.
We definitely should have. His offenses were actually competent with the likes of Joe Flacco, Mike White, and Josh Johnson running them. Just think what they could have been with a QB who was actually good.
