Looks like the Jets were interested in Jeudy before he got traded to the Browns. If Jeudy can be had for a 5th and a 6th, I can’t imagine it would take a ton to get Sutton. Maybe a 4th could get it done?
We'll see what the market is for Sutton. But the Broncos will be desperate to move him so if interest is cool he could be a great value.
I don't get Jeudy. Coming out of college he was the most can't miss, high floor wr in quite some time, and he just hasn't done shit. Sent from my genius mind.
Who can blame them? I think there will be a LOT of competition for him. Sadly, he'll get much more from another team than the Jets can offer, and probably get the opportunity to start as well. He could wind up with 25 sacks next season.
I would guess Sutton costs less. As I've pointed out multiple times now in another thread...it's not 2019 anymore. Sutton's 4 year track record, that includes never seeing his production rebound to 2019 breakout levels after that major ACL injury in 2020, looks pretty meh in my book at it's $17m+ price tag. I think Jeudy is the one going there because the dead cap hit on Sutton is $7.6m, and nobody is actually biting hard enough on Sutton at face value.
Priorities for us. OL first and foremost, way to many needs to bank on the draft, WR, and back up QB. Hope we have enough cap to navigate through that.
Apparently the Jets were one of the teams that called about Jeudy. I bet they talked about Sutton too. Have to think his price tag would be similar
I think the OL needs to be addressed in FA first. We need experienced tackles to protect ARod. JD needs to be all in on Smith at LT and then add someone like Fant as a swing. Add a guard/safety as well. Than in the draft add depth at OT/G/S in the mid to late rounds. Freeing up the high pick to land one of the stud WRs in this class to pair with GW.
The focus in FA/trade at WR would be an epic mistake. It needs to be on the OL. There are soooo many really good WR prospects in this draft that can fill the void. I’ve seen multiple mocks where Nabers falls to us and if that’s the case we can’t pass on him
10 should be a great spot for one of the top WRs, who all look like great prospects. I would love for them to come away with three starting OL in free agency
I hardly think we can afford 3 OL in free agency, we would be lucky to get one top LT and one OG and continue with the draft in round 3. WR in round one is a strong possibility as well or even trade down a bit in round one is an option and pick up an OG/RT
A change at the top is the only way any of this gets fixed. Until that happens, pretty much everything else that does, or doesn't, happen is pretty much pointless.
