Absolutely the correct call playing Aaron Rodgers in the preseason for at least a series or two. There’s no way in hell week one in primetime against the bills should be the first time our starting O touches the field together.
Brook too. But if he gets hurt @dawinner127 and @bicketybam will make life hell for me, BN and Cman. Ooh baby baby. Any word on Giants starters?
I would be shocked if the 1's play more than a qtr. The only reason to watch this game is to see how the 1's look in a game and how Hackett will flex his gameplanning. Hopefully he won't give Rodgers the Zach treatment and give him 2 handoffs, 1 screen and a punt. I need to see something out of Hackett as honestly, he's been anything other than special since his arrival and although Rodgers had a good run with him back in the day, that was then and this is now.
Unlike the other team in MetLife, the Giant 1's have seen game action this preseason. No idea how long they'll play but I have a feeling they're playing for the win, not killing time until the regular season.
Rogers has mentioned several times that he's anticipating an electric crowd for the opener. Seems he wants to get the adrenaline under control before then and this matchup gives him that opportunity. I'd be surprised if we see him for more than a series.
It would be the most upsetting "I TOLD YOU SO" moment of my life. I don't know if I could even muster up any words for to berate you. I see a lot of people on X saying he will just have a series of 3 handoffs. What's even the point? If he's going to play let him actually play. Don't get it.
No one game plans for preseason. Why are you so obsessed with the playcalling? The Jets also play the Giants in October. They aren't going to show each other anything lol
Hackett will be a lightning rod all season. People were complaining about him in the Hall of Fame game, lol.
I agree with you. Either let him and starting offense play a full quarter with some throws or don't even suit him up.
Depends on the purpose of playing in preseason. If the idea is to try out plays to see what works and what doesn't, then playcalling matters. If the idea is to see how personnel play together in a system, then playcalling matters. If the idea is not to win games, but simply see who can play football, then playcalling doesn't matter. Last night, the Jets weren't trying to win, just not get injured. I thought Hackett's Dad managed to sneak into the booth for a play or two. Last night was a complete waste of time. Nothing gained. Nothing accomplished. Jets were trying not to get injured so, we got the Pop Warner Offense for 60mins. Since playcalling doesn't matter during the preseason, Hackett really didn't need to be at the stadium at all. They should have let Rodgers call the plays. Better yet, let Zach call the plays.. In the end, it doesn't really matter does it...
I read that it was Rodgers' decision to play in the last preseason game.. I wonder why.... He's gonna risk injury for a few snaps? Doesn't make sense. The Giants I suspect will be playing to win this game. The Jets will be playing not to get injured.. Got all the makings of another snoozer.
