Second day in the tournament. Portugal up 2-1 against Spain. Spain played better yet Portugal is ahead. Great game to watch.
Spain is magical. They don't need a coach! I think they get at least one more. Question is whether Portugal does too... I think they do. I predict 3-2 Portugal or a 3-3 draw Edit: Thanks Brook for making this thread!
The world cup is always amazing to watch. Portugal/Spain might just have been the game of the tournament.
ESPN starting the premature C. Ronaldo GOAT talk. He is not the GOAT, neither is Messi. You have to win a World Cup before you can be considered that. I think it's Diego Maradona personally but no issues with Pele either.
Why does every sports discussion end up involving GOAT talk these days? So annoying. My least favorite expression of the last couple years. Just let the players play.
I think the problem is the new generations never saw the old guns play so they are quick to point out the, usually, inferior newer generation is the GOAT. This pisses off people who saw both generations play. LeBron, Messi, C. Ronaldo, and Brady are not GOATs. Jordan, Maradona, and Montana are the GOATs. Sorry I know you didn't want to hear that but it's the truth. I don't know who the GOAT in hockey is but I'm guessing it's Gretzky?
I agree with you. Both Ronaldo and Messi are great but I wouldn't call any of them GOAT. My first World Cup was 1986. Maradona I watched was the best I have ever seen in my life. I watched clips of Pele and can't deny his greatness. But until I watch a better player than Maradona I won't call anybody GOAT. Oh I love goats. Dang it.
Woke up early to watch Australia-France game. What a physical game from Australia. It was a shame they lost. Now onto Argentina-Iceland. Rooting for Argentina but Iceland was spectacular in the last Euro tournament. Should be a good game.
This is intense. I love Iceland and I love Messi so I'll take either an Iceland upset or a Messi game winner
