Now with Curtis Martin definitely staying, who will be our starting RB next year? I was certain he would take a Marshall Faulk type role in 2006 but now I'm not so sure. What do you think? Let's discuss

While I love Curtis Martin we need to draft an explosive back. Curtis is rock solid as they come, but the 3-5 yard runs with the rare 10-15 yard run has become an all to familiar site. We need someone explosive that can break one, kind of like Lamont did when he was with it. Drafting a young back and having Martin as a mentor would be a great combo. Hopefully they can get a late first rounder for Abe and pick someone up, or maybe DeAngelo at #4. But our offense is in dire need if a playmaker. Even if Pennington returns he does not have that big play capability, if we could have that in the running game the offense might be productive this year. O-line, sadly will hamper the Jets offense this year.

Curtis is going to compete for the starting role in training camp. Houston, Blaylock or another RB has to beat him out.

Curtis, I doubt he is totaly done. Last year was hard to judge anyone but if Curtis can't beat out say a Cedric Houston thats when you know it's over.

he could play the marshall role if we only had a stephen jackson, wed have to draft someone because we CANNOT win games if cedric houston is our planned franchise RB

No real starter. Curtis will be the starter on the depth chart but houston and blaylock will get lots of carries. I think we our rb's already. Curtis already took a paycut and blaylock and houston are cheap. I think these 3 guys if used correctly can produce a respectable running attack. We adress the rb positon after next season if needed

We have a lot of holes to address. Curtis seems to be all over Lendale White, and would love to work with him. The problem is, we really can't afford to draft a back with all our holes.

I'm hoping we draft DeAngelo, and lay on the 1-2 punch with him and curtis.

Not the most important one, in my mind.

QB OL and NT are more important to me. You can draft the QB or the OL. I would get someone to play NT

We can trade down to get White and use the pick to fill a hole at the same time

Curtis. No doubt. I do not want that to be the case but considering who we have on board and all that we need to address at the draft ther is no way we draft our future RB in the draft. Unless we get REAL lucky. Which I guess is a possibility.
