Im curious, does anyone know the last time we made a 2pt conversion? I can't remember the last time we got one and it seems like we can never convert them.

I think maybe last year early in the season at home against Arizona. We made a 2 pt conversion to go up 56-35 late for like no reason. So we can only make it if we are going for it when the 2 pointer isn't needed.

I was thinking the same thing before the 2 point play. I was very confident in the fact that we were not going to complete it.

What bugs me is that not only can we never make those conversions when they matter but there's two games I can think of where we've gone for them needlessly and lost when going for the 1 point could/would have won us the game.

Today's wasn't in the latter category, that was the correct call, just a shame we didn't make it. No, my problem was the Miami game last time out when we went for two 2-pointers and missed them both.

Had we just played as normal and taken the PATs we'd have had the FG as the option at the end of the game when we were camped in the red zone to end that game. Instead of being 5 points down it would have just been two.

We also did the same thing @ St Louis in 2004 which nearly cost us a play off place.

As Boomer Esiason says, only go for it when you have to.

The two vs Miami weren't great calls, but if we hadn't gone for 2, Miami probably wouldn't have also gone for 2 - so at the end of the game we would still have been down by 4.

This is actually not true, since Miami then went for 2 and didn't make it (which was a monumentally stupid decision by Sparano). If the Jets kick the first extra point after the Edwards TD to make it 24-20, then the Dolphins kick the extra point on the Haynos TD to make it 31-20. If the Jets then kick the extra point on the Keller TD to make it 31-27 they are still four points down at the end. Going for two the first time was a dubious decision, but it didn't end up hurting the team because Sparano made an even worse decision. Going for 2 the second time was absolutely the right decision.

What i don't get is if we have the top rushing team in football why can they never run fo two yards there?
