During that span we had 12 seasons with a record of .500 or better. From 2014 to 2018, we have matched our entire losing season total of the 16 years prior. I’m beginning to think we should not have gotten rid of Rex. Bowles was a complete disgrace for this organization, along with Mac. Looks like we are continuing down the path of another losing season as well.
Did you see how Rex did in Buffalo? The Johnsons have never been wrong about a fire. It's the hires that have been the problem.
but 8-8 9-7 for all time is just shitty but a different type of shitty, a mediocre run of the mill kind of shitty, hovering around the fringe like a bad smell kind of shitty. What annoys me most is the fact we can't even fucking tank correctly and get ourselves heading in the right direction and still look like we need to scrap 80% of the squad and start again. Fuck!!!!
This is poor logic. Rex was terrible and deserved to be fired 2 years before he actually was. Can't help that he was replaced with another terrible Head Coach. And now that coach has been replaced by a guy who may have already lost the locker room after 2 weeks. Not great!
Rex should've been fired after the 2012 season so that we could've gotten a good GM instead of Idzik.
Wins, that is all it boils down too, enough to keep a fan from dying inside. But really it is just a long slow death.
Our drafting since Mangini got canned has been bad, so what happens when you have a decade of bad drafting? Answer- what we saw last night and to a greater extent, what we've seen for a long time
Boy, we're really scraping the bottom of the barrel for comfort today. Unless it's the barrel of a shotgun, count me out.
Ryan got us to 2 straight championship games and there isn't another coach in Jets history who did that, except maybe for Ewbank. Stop blaming him and blame the guy who destroyed this team, Idzik. Anybody who knows anything about a Ryan defense knows it's predicated on good DB play, so what does Idzik do, gets rid of both starting safeties and both starting DBs and everybody wonders why the team got so bad..really? Oh, and did I mention that Ryan had to deal with Sanchez as his QB the entire time he was here?
We were getting idzick no matter what. Firing Rex earlier should have been done do we had the coach and gm with the same agenda. Having a coach that needs to win paired with a gem that needs to break down the roster gets you, well, we all know what it gets us.
Were we? IIRC, it was the search firm that recommended Idzik and Woody was sold. I have to believe that retaining Rex turned off other GM candidates from even thinking about the Jets vacancy.
I don’t see why that search firm would have recommended someone else. They were the ones who put Schneider in Seattle and then turned around and took idzic from that staff.
We know tanny leaned on his coaches for player acquisition. That team would have been dangerous. It was really good before Favre got hurt. Of course if he stays healthy we probably don’t fire mangini.
