I'm just thinking to myself, 10-6, that's good enough most years to earn a playoff bid. Not this year and it truly stings me because I feel this team literally fucked themselves by not making a run at the SB this year. 10-6 Got us no playoffs. Terrible draft pick. Harder schedule. Aging roster. Disgusted feeling. SOJ taste. I can't go up to someone and talk about how awesome this season was now because we literally were not good enough to make it to the dance. I'm trying to find the positives for the future based off this season but I'm a little worried to be honest. Food for thought I guess.
do people not realize that our best defensive player was taken 30th overall, that antonio brown was a 6th round pick, and that marshall was a 3rd round pick you play to win the game dude
First of all you don't want a team that has to rely on a weak schedule to be good, we already have that, so who cares if the schedule is more difficult. Beat whoever you're scheduled to play. I think we get the NFC West next year, yay!
That doesn't happen often, if that was a common thing in the draft, sure, not to worried. That certainly doesn't happen often in a draft that has us without a 5th and 6th rounder now. It's not a good situation to be in for a team that missed the playoffs even after earning 10 wins on the year. IMO
10-6 don't mean shit! these are moments that you seize. our org isn't built (yet) to be a contender for the playoffs every year like some teams which is a hard task.
alright dude then don't root for the team to win football games, idk what to tell you go be a sixers fan if you want to tank for easier schedules, higher draft picks, etc. i'd rather create a winning culture and gradually improve
Only if you didn't think this was a rebuilding year going in. This loss was brutal, the way it was lost, who it was lost too. The whole fricking shabang was a godawful cluster fuck of Jets proportions. They've got to build on it going forward in a pragmatic and systematic way. Don't go out and overpay for anything and just keep trucking along.
Colts, Chiefs, AFC North, NFC West. The schedule is tougher but we still get the Fins x2, the Browns, the Rams and the 49ers. Our opponents next year were +359 pt differential this year or +1.4 pts a game. The Jets will probably have to pick between a heavy rebuild and trying to 10-6 again (to make the playoffs this time.)
Read bro. I didn't say anything about tanking or losing games on purpose. . I'm not that fan, the fuck? I'm making an observation on the season as it stands, nothing more. That reading comprehension doh.
Buccs went 10-6 in 2010 while missing the playoffs and collapsed after that. Cardinals went 11-5 and missed the playoffs recently and have continued to thrive. Let's be more like the Cardinals.
Right now, my only real positives are Marshall and Decker. I like what Fitz has done this season, definitely gave us a good ride, no doubt; however I can't help but feel with M & D, other Quarterbacks could have found similar success. The O-line needs work, RB is a question mark, Ivory can't stay healthy, Powell turned it on at the end of the season but struggled early, not sure which side of Powell to trust. Defense is inconsistent as always. M & D are the playmakers we are probably going to rely heavily on going into the future.
