All we have to do is show up and play mediocre and we will beat the bills. Slightly better than we have the last two weeks is all it will take although not having Harris will make it closer than it should be.
Yeah, it has become a matter of wondering how long we can go without one instead of the feeling that we'd be surprised if there is.....but I mean, last season it was just a matter of waiting until someone jumped one of the 5 yard outs..... Now look at Chad, throwing deep and medium passes successfully because they are keeping other defenses on their toes.....makes you wonder (or maybe not wonder) why our O is still struggling with one of the best ever back there.....surprised the the head office isn't thinking the same.
NO turnovers and the defense tightens up against the pass. We can beat anyone if those two things happen.
Yeah, they need to go out there and give it 110%, leave it all on the field, play as a team, and put some points up on the board, but most importantly, play to win the game; don't play it to just play it. Seriously, if we don't turn the ball over we might have a pretty good shot at winning this game.
We beat the bills with a baseball bat. If we try to beat them in the same fashion we have tried to beat others we will fail miserably, just like the METS.
Come out of the tunnel blitzing Edwards and keep doing it. I'm tired of watching this team let these suspect QBs get comfortable and then pick them to death. Put Revis on Lee Evans and just get after this clown. I'd rather they give up one or two long TDs and punish this kid, it's a better formula for success: The defense isn't on the field as long, and it gives the Jets more possessions to get something going. Repeat: Blitz EARLY, OFTEN, UNTIL THE JOB IS DONE.
gotta respect the HB Draw to Lynch though...if we blitz all day...Lynch will take full advantage....Sutton (god help us) will need to somehow disguise the defensive looks.
Here is what I would get back to. Focus on moving the chains first and simply getting first downs. Every series doesn't have to involve a "home run play". This will hopefully help with the field position. Giving the Bills poor field position will help the Jets' defense in terms of forcing the Bills to have to make more plays to get into scoring position. Favre has always done better when the offense gets in some kind of rhythm instead of being so scatter shot. The offense really doesn't have an identity yet. One minute it is run, run, run. The next minute it is pass, pass, pass.
From the Democrat and Chronicle... "Quarterback Trent Edwards was limping slightly, but he worked the entire practice and Jauron said he doesn?t expect Edwards to miss any time during the week. He showed up Monday with a sore ankle." If I'm coaching the Jets, the game plan is quite clear.
how does a sore ankle impede Edwards from handing off the football to Lynch? This has no bearing whatsoever on the HB draw being effective against our blitzing schemes. thank god you're not coaching the Jets....i think we found somebody more retarded than Bob Sutton.
All you gotta do to beat the Bills is throw short, timed passes. The past 3 weeks the Bills secondary has not learned to stop little slant routes, and it kills us.
Are you saying we should have Pennington? lol That was our strategy twice last year and you guys beat us both times. I don;t think we can count on a strategy like that....but knowing this coaching staff, they have watched the Bills film and planned 3 run plays and all the rest are short, timed passes. When the Bills take that away in the 2nd quarter, they won't know what to do so they will keep calling them, leading to INTs.
