Cimini is probably right. What it sounds like he is saying is that we may make the playoffs but if we do we will get our butts kicked in the first round if we keep playing the way we are. Since everybody else in the AFC sucks too we have that distinct chance.
Exactly..perfectly put. When Favre threw 15 touchdown passes against the Cardinals...we received two things champ. 1. Multiple articles how "the skys the limit"..."high powered offense"...etc..etc..etc...and thats exactly what you were hearing around here. The exact point of abyz. post. The media reads and reacts. 2. None of those articles were posted on this site by you. Thats always been the problem (actually the only problem) I have with your type of being a "jet fan". It will never make sense to me champ. Your posting on this board is more to get a reaction then to clearly look at the team without bias...in your case "reaction" and for me...well..with all due respect..that just doesnt seem like a lot of fun. With all the pissing and moaning I do about MY team...two things are never changing. I can destroy my team....but if you are not a Jet fan..you better shut your mouth. Two, when I sit down to watch my team...and they are 4-3 and playing for a chance at first...its still "fun". Is this team where I would like it to be? I do not need to read an article by either of the men you needed to copy from to tell me its not. Im able to do that for "free". Im also able to do that without trying to get a reaction from fellow Jet fans...which is a method I will never fully understand.
I think we both took huge steps forward and are both very competitive teams in the mediocre AFC. It has been stated already that we matched our win total from last season already.
Did you actually read what I wrote, or is this just a senile moment? I am not talking to them, I am talking to you. They are not posting the articles here you are, and they are the only type of articles you post. And I didn't just say positive, I said neutral too. You LOOK for the negatives articles. I never see you here posting an article like a free agent signing. And when the Jets do have a good week with good press (like after the Arizona game) you were no where to be seen. Who was saying wonderful and terrific things? Once again, did you bother reading my post. I am just tired of your schtick. Oh please there have been times and seasons when the beat writers were riding the Jets jock, 98 comes to mind. They write what will get them the most responses from the fanbase, they want a reaction. People like you fall for it. The guys write shallow drivel that says and means nothing, but you buy into like they are experts. Mostly because they share your view of the Jets, if they didn't, you would have nothing to post. Than you should read more. Last year all the beat writers were negative about the Giants. Calling them disfunctional and for Coughlin's job, no one gave them a shot the SB. All the positives came a day later. Like typical beat writers. Wow, and what does any of that cerebral hemorrhage have to do with what I said to you? I was commenting on your act, your motives. Which I see you didn't even address or deny. Just repeat the same thing for the millionth time.
If Brett Farve Bolts and Kellen is not the Qb of the future come next training camp what has to happen? We have to draft yet another Qb and hope he is good and if he is still wait for him to get ready to win. In the meantime guys like Coles, Ellis, Faneca, Jenkins etc, etc will be older or gone and they will have to be replaced as well. Qb's do not become championship material overnight and we don't have a Sb ready team to hand to a rookie and say just don't screw it up. If farve is not here next year then who leads us to the promised land?
We did it your way since 2006 and where are we today? If we go 8-8 and farve leaves which he will we are screwed for years to come? Unless of course you come up with a Give the Bengals the farm for Carson Palmer scheme or something like that. Who is our Qb next year if farve goes?
It's not possible for Clemens or Ratliff to come in and play well after having been in the same system for 3 years? Some pretty good QB's have managed to sit on the bench for a few years in the same system and have immediate success.
Then there is Ratliff, who I think is better then Clemens anyway. And we still have to see Ainge get some reps. Do you think if we draft a QB in the first round he will be a sure thing? Any other QB we draft or sign will have just as many question marks as Clemens, Ratliff, or Ainge. Just as much of a gamble. In the meantime they are learning behind Favre. And then when he leaves, we see what they have to give us. Which is the same situation as any other young QB the Jets might choose. I don't know why you and others want to write off the 3 young QBs we have already on the roster when we don't know what we have in them yet (well maybe we know with Clemens, but that's debatable). It can't hurt any of them to develop behind and watch Favre for a few years.
I think championjets earned his cynicism with 39 straight years of waiting for another SB win and only coming close one or two years. Champ, quick question since you were around 30 when the Jets won. What made you become a Jets fan anyway?
