let's do the math here....Brian Schottenheimer's daddy is one of the most conservative mofos to ever coach in the NFL.....looks like Brian is a "chip off the old block" if you ask me.
I expect the Jets to blow out the Chiefs. The Chiefs are truly horrible. Even if Larry Johnson returns, the Jets should be able to shut down the Chiefs running attack. If that happens, the Chiefs are in for a world of hurt. The Jets are going to be up and down all year. They should be very up this week. If this is somehow a close game and the Jets squeak by with a 3-point win or something, it'll be one of their worst wins in team history. No way should this game be close.
Do you HONESTLY believe BS1 will not handcuff this offense? Do you honestly believe BS2 will actually send someone in for blitz? I THINK NOT.
Well, the only thing I can see is a replay of week 4 against the Cards. The offense was handcuffed in the previous weeks, and then in the next game, they unleashed hell. I can see it happening again. Completely inconsistent playcalling.
When the consistent behavior does not show for a reason, that's what we call anomaly. What's so great about anomaly is that you can't expect it to occur on a consistent basis. Cardinals game was that anomaly. Besides that, Jets offense have been pedestrian at best. I expect another pedestrian effort from BS1 and ManRetard.
Don't know if you guys know this or not, but KC's QB coach is your very own "Father Time" Dick Curl. Thigpen might have some skills, but he doesn't have anyone to help him bring them out. He hasn't looked good at all. He overthrows his targets constantly or takes off running at the first hint of pressure, which is going to get his clock cleaned one of these days. Even if Huard does start instead of Thigpen, he has really regressed under Dick Curl. Herm might have a small clue on how to play not to lose. But his simple run, run, pass, punt offense will have the defense worn out by the third quarter. Then your offense should be able to run at will. I did catch the end of the game with the Faiders last week and I was really disappointed. I was pulling for the Jets to pull that one out. Any time the Faiders lose, it makes me really happy. Pretty sad, isn't it? Instead of saying our team is going to win this week, we're telling each other that our team is going to lose. Sad state of the only two AFL franchises to win the Super Bowl.
1. So that's where Dick Curl went... that's sad. That's so fucked up. Your franchise didn't deserve such a harsh fate. 2. The difference this week will be... Run-Run-Pass -> Voila, the pass works! That's the magical touch of Bob Sutton - armed with his all-powerful 3-man rush, he can make any QB look like a second coming of Joe Montana. By 4th quarter, Jets D is very tired. That's when your very own Larry Johnson can run wild. 3. As long as the three clowns are at HC/OC/DC position, this team is dust.
It remains to be seen if LJ is even going to play or not. He's turned into a real piece of work, but this isn't the first time something like this has happened. Don't know if you've seen this story on ESPN.com or not... Your site won't let me post the link, just go to ESPN.com's football section and it's the top story. The sad part is they traded away their best defensive lineman and gave this piece of shit a huge ass contract. Carl Peterson, aka King Carl in KC, is trying to make sure there isn't anything left when his contract expires next year.
I completely agree with Cakes. We are going to destroy these guys. The score might not reflect it if we play like we did this week or last week, but even still we should win. The Chiefs are horrendous. Johnson can run the ball, and Charles is a decent rookie, but the line is still below average and Thigpen has been a joke so far (I realize he's young, just being blunt). Our run defense has stopped better run offenses this year, and with Thigpen, we should stack the box and control the game a la the Bengals. Except the Chiefs' defense is far worse. The Titans had Lendale run for 149 and Johnson for 168 last week. Come on. The playcalling sucked horribly against Oakland. We threw all the time early, then we ran down their throats. How about mixing it up? A play action at some point? I have no problem running the ball a lot, but you could pass on first or second down once in overtime... Some of it is Favre though, and some of it may be the fact that Favre just might not be the quarterback he was last year, and he might not be in the same shape. That was the risk with taking Favre. Hopefully, it's just an aberration, but it's always possible. I'm sure some of it is the receivers, too, but I'd have to watch film to get a better read on that.
That's BS, you think we aren't designing any plays to go deep? We only did that in week 1 and against Ari? Favre is not getting the looks he likes, he looks lost out there. he is taking way too much time to throw the ball and is getting battered b/c of it. I thought he was getting this O down but the last 2 weeks he has looked lost out there.
Exxxxxaaaaaaaaaactly. But everything minor must become major on a Jets board. We've gone deep successfully like once...the Cotch pass against the Dolphins...that doesn't mean we haven't tried...it's just been called back (NE)...or turned into a Favre INT (several games)....or dropped... But any reason to bitch after a loss really....
It's always an issue with the Jets. We should of won that game with know problems. They were the worse team in the NFL. Now we play the other worse team this weekend. If we beat them what does that prove?? We beat a crappy team, If we lose to them, this team should be sold and not waste a dime on a new stadium.
