He is reportedly being shopped around the NFL now by the KC front office. We probably can't afford him but we sure as hell could use him. At various points, Favre coming to the Jets was considered a highly improbable long shot so I guess I'll just dream on until the trade deadline passes.
Why do the Jets need another running back - and one with tons of mileage on the tires - more than Jones has. No thanks. I'll pass.
LJ is too old. Take the picks KC would have wanted for LJ and use them to trade up for Moreno. note: I just read that the Raiders are quietly shopping Michael Bush. A young power back with great potential? Or an aging feature back? For a Jets team that sucks at short yardage, its easy.
I would take LJ for a 2nd rounder. He is 28 and is still considered a top running back in the league. He use to be one of the best with LT but KC started to suck. I think if he goes to a better team he will start to put up big numbers again. With that said, Favre wants this to be a throw first team so they won't get him. And also KC probably wants a 1st and more for him.
dou really wanna pay a runing back 60 or more million dollars when we are paying leon about 1 mil no thanks brother
herm ran him into the ground a few years ago. everyone said it was dumb to give him so many carries. they were right. no is the correct answer.
I don't think we should be worried about the running backs. The OL is not jelling very well so far. This is not the fault of Washington or Jones. Our OL are not blowing many people off the line of scrimmage. It is nice to see Jones hit up the middle for 5 to 7 yards, but this is still far too much of an exception, not a regular happening. If we are going to do anything this year, the OL has got to pick it up. Otherwise, those predictions of 8 and 8 will appear optimistic.
We don't want LJ. Maybe 3 years ago, but now? No. We already have an over the hill RB, and he scored 3 times for us this week! Go Tom Jones!
they're shopping gonzalez because the rebuilding process will take a few years and gonzalez told their GM that he likely won't be playing in a few years. he wanted a chance to win a SB so he asked for a trade and their GM agreed if they could find a suitable team and a good offer for him. I say no to LJ. Jets would be better off to draft a quality RB. They're a dime a dozen when you think about it, and the average life span of an NFL RB is about 5 years. LJ is approaching that age and has been beaten up a bit in his short career.
