I'd like to see Barrett play a full game in that role. I know most people on here hate him, but there is a chance (however small) that he could be a good stop gap for this season and maybe next as Smith and Elam aren't the answer.
Agreed, I'd like to see Barrett play for a little while in that role. I've not been impressed by Smith or Elam to this point. I think Smith should get suspended, but that fine for his salary is pretty insane - over 10% of his year's money gone in less than a second.
Interesting from the roster perspective--from the article it sounds like a decision will be made before Sunday. If he's suspended, no cuts until next week. If he's active, someone gets cut this week. ^^Barrett played ok against SD as I recall--int for a TD, no?. I don't see much dropoff in terms of coverage.
Interesting--I think that his assignment in SD was Gates. Maybe against the Cards he had a more flexible assignment and wasn't up to it. Maybe he learned something.
There's a difference between being completely out of position and just plain getting beat. Barret doesn't appear to be comfortable with his responsibilities at safety, but I guess you have to learn at some point.
While the suspension is being appealed he is still on the roster. Whether he plays or not is up to the coaching staff.
the fine should be cut down to a more percentage based look at it to ensure more fairness hes having a huge chunk of his salary go as of now compared to when a roy williams making millions gets fined this amount
