    Poor Bengals.

Pour one out for them in the parking lot, or hold a candle vigil for their secondary.

Clowney was impressive in preseason, but I think Stuckey is going to win the 3rd WR position.

I don't disagree, but he's just another weapon we can throw out there. He's probably our fastest receiver.

Stuckey will have the 3rd spot as long as he can hold it.

If Clowney really proves he can take it then he will, but he'll remain the #4 barring amazing production.

But the Jets will run a 4 WR single back offense, and with Favre throwing the ball - sucks for the opposing teams.

That's true...and yes, having Clowney with speed helps us on 3rd and long situations in order to break away with Farverah throwing the ball.

Great to hear that Clowney has returned. Obviously he will be with the Special Teams unit, but he can be a dangerous weapon as a 4th WR.

With 3rd and long, it would be nice to see Coles and Cotchery on one side with Stuckey and Clowney on the other, then have Stuckey and Cotchery do slants with Coles and Clowney going straight and deep...

Then pass to Keller down the middle for a touchdown.

Shit, I should be the coach.

Clowney was great in preseason and he has that breakaway speed we could use with coles. The Bye Week to get familar again with everything and should see him against the bengals.

I was thinking that as I was typing that post.. During the preseason I remember Clowney saying he was misused in GB as a slot receiver. Thats why Clowney was so dominant in the preseason due to him lining up outside.

Thats why he'd be better as the #4, or if he is used in the #3 spot, Coles can line up in the slot and have Clowney outside.

The bright side of Clowney's injury is that it was his shoulder, not his legs.

yeah i think stuckey getting a td a week is going to probably keep him in the lineup as the #3, however i am very happy to see clowney coming back well and on time. hopefully he doesnt have any further issues with the collarbone. he can add something to this team.

scenario: jet's down by 6 with 5 minutes to go in the game and are stopped on 3rd and inches at the jet's 40 yd line. 4th down! other team celebrates waiting for jet's punting team to take the field.

    but....

out trots favre and lines up with an empty backfield set with 4 recievers and dustin keller in the slot. the other coach screaming 'TIME OUT TIME OUT'.

Even if we just use him as a 3rd and long decoy, Clowney's presence, and what he did in preseason, should loosen up the safeties a bit, and give Coles, Cotchery and Stuckey more room to make something happen after catching slants, or comebacks, or crossing patterns.

Having a safety playing at 15 instead of at 12 yards can make all the difference in the world when you have a QB who can get a slant to the WR before the defense has a chance to react...

GB's bread and butter last year, quick outs and slants.

To be effective, must have QB who can put the ball in exactly the right place, also ball must come out quickly. Executed correctly maens YAC.

Oh wait, the Jets do have that QB.

Great news! Excited to see what he can do. A five wide set would be pretty exciting.
