I believe the biggest reason for the offense's success today was the OL. Favre had ALL DAY to look downfield and make decisions. 2 sacks were given up..but both were clearly coverage sacks..both of which Favre likely could've taken off running downfield if he were healthier/more fleet of foot. The front 5 really seems to be coming together..and that can only mean very good things down the road.
Time to jell. Thats all it is... now there is a bye week for chemisty to get better and for the 2 important dudes to heal... can't wait for week 6.
Very good point. What I liked even more was the fact that Hunter was in for a lot of plays in the second half without killing Brett Favre. WE HAVE BACK-UPS ON THE O-LINE!!!! hallejulah!
The fact that I didn't even notice our O-Line today tells me they had a great game. That holding call on Mangold by the goal-line was total BS.
I'm still not a believer in Brandon Moore and I think we should consider an upgrade at that position.
I don't know if Favre ever got this much time to look downfield w/ the packers..ever. I was skeptical about the sigining of Woody and the keeping of Moore..but so far so good.
I was at the game and i completely agree, i really like how d'brick played, quick question though did he give up that sack to Dockett, i only ask because it would on paper make d'brick's performance seem ok because he really stepped up. On a side note i think the problem with our running game isn't the offensive line, but thomas jones. I am just not impressed now, and its time for more leon
I believe he did well when the running game was used today... he has survived the Herm era and has been given an extension. He is just the forgotten Lineman.
Looked like Burt had all day to throw...good job OL! I also think they are good enough at run blocking that TJ looks better than he is.
I'm still not a big believer in our run blocking just yet. It's certainly better than it was last year, but when we need a yard, I don't trust us to get it. But Favre has all day to throw. It's beautiful.
