All prevent really prevents is getting a touchdown in one play. Dink and Dunks pick apart the prevent. Hence Chads uncanny ability to always almost bring the Jets back. Short to mid-range passes take a little longer, but work well in countering the prevent.
As far as I'm concerned, Bob Sutton should have been fired immediately after this game. This fu**en guy drives me crazy. 35 points in the second half, and letting the defense score at will. Any offense that scores 35 points in a whole game should expect to win every time. This idiot has his cornerbacks playing ten yards off the ball the whole second half. I am so sick and tired of this guy, and his bullshit conservative defense. I started screaming on that play in the first half when he had only two down linemen rushing the quarterback until Revis picked it off. My wife asked me why I was upset, but I didn't even try to explain it cause she wouldn't understand.
Bottom line. We could stop a shite O scoring and/or moving the ball with ease. Whoever was calling the shots, needs their ass set on fire. Footnote. Westy looked really pissed off whole game.
It was stupid to switch to the prevent defense at the start of the second half. I don't know why Mangini does it so early. Against Miami (in 2006 & 2007) he switched to a prevent defense at the start of the fourth quarter (that was dumb!) but to open the second half in a prevent defense? They'll get it figured out. This team will only get better.
The biggest issue w/ the defense starting in the second half(if you watched closely) was that Mangini basically put the second team out there. Mosley, Gholston, Spencer, Poteat, etc were all on the field.
The 1st Half our D was Great. The 2nd Half our D was Shit. Looks like we have a Bipolar Defense on our hands.
