I agree that this is a must-win for the Chargers and not as much for the Jets given their upcoming schedule. To have a chance at winning the Jets need to not only score, but score early. Get the Chargers down on themselves after their two losses. If the Chargers jump out to a decent lead, say 2 TDs, then I don't see the Jets having much of a chance. Too hard to play catch-up all the time.
idk it kinda depends on opinion..probably means itll most likely happen but there is a small chance it wont..and since that small chance is in the definition of probably then ah fuck it i cant explain it
I voted - I Don`t Care. I`m just about done with this team(been a season ticket holder since 84). It just goes to show us that no matter who they get as a QB, RB, WR, OL, DL, LB, CB, TE, S, ST`s Coach, DC, OC, OWNER or stadium, they will always be the same old jets. Last week was a great opportunity to make a statement and they blew it. They made a High School QB look like a pro. They spent how much on a new O-Line? Yeah, they ran the ball from the 3 yard line for a total of -2 yds. Great! Not a happy camper right now. Did I think they would beat the Pats before Brady went down? No. I expected them to make a statement in this game after Brady went down. They failed miserably once again.
He is not a High School QB, I don't care that he hasnt started since HS, he is an nfl qb in the patriots system and any nfl qb experienced with that system will be good..and there is no such thing as any season (besides very few) in any sport where you lose a game you should have won..even for the 07-08 pats
Holy smokes, I can't believe the number of "probable loss" votes. I'm just lost on whether this is a sunshiney or a darksidey board. Just when I think I have it down. . . . .
I'm so disappointed with Jets fans giving up on the season after we lost a close one to New England. Seriously, you call yourselves fans? It's week three, damnit. New England went 18-1 last season. Yes Brady is their best player, but they're still a damn good team. If we had lost to Indianapolis that way, this board would be much less negative today. Learn to handle a loss, people. San Diego is going to be a very difficult task on the road, but it's winnable. As long as we win one of the next two, we should be fine heading into the rest of the season. The team will get better down the stretch. Haven't you learned anything from this team recently?
Just as 11 people say we have no chance. Some people are homers, some people gave up on this season 10 years ago.
is it wrong to carefully evaluate both teams and understand perhaps the team you root for isn't good enough to beat another team?
I said I don't know. The Chargers play like the Jets used to under Herm. They could either be really great or really awful. I'm hoping for really awful because I'm not expecting much out of the Jets until after the bye if at all...
I gotta touch on some things with your post. I hear people saying we lost a close game. This comment bothers me a lot. This comment and also that thread where the OP sarcastically compared our offensive stats to the Patriots. This was a Brady-less Patriots team. Do you honestly believe that we still would've lost by 9 points? Can you honestly believe that Brady would had the same numbers as Cassel in the first 2 games of the season? (vs Chiefs 152 yds, 1 td, 0 int. Or Jets 165 yds, 0 td, 0 int?) If we lost to Indianapolis with Peyton Manning at the helm, of course everyone would feel better about a 9 point loss. That's a potent offense. That would show that we have a stout defense w/ a good secondary. San Diego will be tough. They have scored more points in their last game, than we have so far in the season. So you gotta see how some fans aren't thrilled about our chances out west.
All this "revenge" crap is bullshit. The Jets are capable of beating any team in the NFL, and this goes far beyond the cliched "any given sunday" chance.
I'm kinda broke on vCash but I'd say the chances of us winning are slight. Less than 20%, IMO. Far from definite.
The JETS WILL WIN on MNF and dude, PLEASE lose the pussy references........We may not be undefeated, but we AIN'T THAT!
what really pissed me off is that ManIdiot couldn`t come up with a defensive game plan that would have rattled a FIRST TIME STARTER IN HIS "PRO" career. This is where I draw the line. Cassel hadn`t started a game since HIGH SCHOOL! I don`t care if he`s on the Patriots or the 1972 Dolphins. He hasn`t started since high school and our defensive game plan didn`t rattle him a bit. We need Bud Carson back! Yeah, it`s only game 2 and the Jets are 1-1. Should be 2-0 and looking forward to Monday Night. Instead, we have to look at the facts here. We BARELY beat a terrible Miami team. Kept them in the game till the final play. Thats not good, but we won a close game against a very bad team. Granted it was week #1. Jitters and all that stuff. Then we have an excellent opportunity to make a very BOLD statement in this division against a QB who hasn`t started in a very long time(1999). 9 years ago is when Cassel was in charge of an offense from the start. It was a terrible loss to a very winnable game. Instead, we fans who have been there and done that with this team just know better. Only thing positive to look for is that Norv Turner is SD`s HC and one will never know with him. So, I voted I don`t care. It`s not in my control anyway. I`d like to see some improvements in our team and coaching Monday Night or we may not see another win before the bye week. Arizona is no definite win so don`t even think it will be. It "should" be, but like someone else mentioned, any team can beat any team on any given Sunday. You think Arizona doesn`t feel the same way?
The chargers gave up 39 points to denver last weekend, and have lost two games at the last second in consecutive weeks to teams in which they were favored, actually, heavily favored to win. Yeah... so even though they will be favored... you can't discount the jets. The chargers are sort of a freefall... wonder if #56 really just meant that much to the D.
when the Jets scare another team, i'll remove it. Until then, they will be known as a team that can be push around regardless of the pass rush they have. The need toughness, I have not seen it at the end of last year and the beginning of this year. I saw some in 2006 when they played the Pats and Packers. I saw it against the Bears anbd Colts too. 3/4 of those teams won 11 or more games that year. If they lose on sunday, but I see a team that is grinding it out and playing football- not finesse football but real football, I will remove the title.
