Favre is 5-0 against San Diego, the Jets have played well there recently.. if the offense opens up and goes toe to toe with the SD offense, there might be a game here. The defense will do their job, being 8th in the league overall. The SD defense is 30th. So if the playcalling opens up, then there is a chance. LT's toe is hurt, Gates isn't 100%, their defense hasn't look great... BUT, they are pissed off being 0-2 and I think they are a better team regardless of what the stats say. If the Jets have put the loss on sunday behind them, they have a shot. If its lingering, the Chargers cover the spread.
No, coming from someone who hates both teams about equally. The Chargers are a better team, at home and know this is pretty much a must win game for them.
We almost beat them, great comeback with Brooks Bollinger. I know, different teams, but I'm confident. Sorta. It'll be a close game. Maybe Fuck it, we'll lose.
The Chargers have the more recent playoff experience, but because the way the Chargers play, the Jets' have a very good shot at winning this game 24 - 21.
I've posted this elsewhere but it is relevant to this thread--I feel better going into this game than I have the last two. I like what I'm hearing about how the team is responding to last weeks loss including cutting the P and working on OL technique. It seems the teams morale is very high. This could be the breakout game--can't be certain but I have a feeling.
I know people are saying LT is hurt and may be limited or may not even play, but I think Sproles is being mistakenly overlooked. I'm hoping our defense doesn't make this same mistake leading up to Monday night. This guy is so fast and slippery. I don't know what the outcome to this game will be. I'd like to think we'll return to NY with a victory, but, I just don't know how much Mangini/Schotty is willing to deviate from their game plans to please the NY media and fans. I give this game a coin toss. I'm not 100% confident that this team can go West and beat a team that hung OFFENSIVELY tough with the Panthers and Broncos til the bitter end.
With ManHerm jerking off like he's been doing the past two weeks, this team doesn't stand a chance in hell.
Chargers are pist at two last minute losses. Jets have by far the better coach. Chargers have the biggest crybaby in the league but Sproles is very good. Charger miss their steroid linebacker who's afraid of surgery. If Jets score early they will eke out a slim victory and finish the Chargers for 2008. Jets by 3 as LT sobs on the bench, with his helmet on. Like he did when the Patsys beat his team last year.
If our CS takes the shackles off BF we will give them one hell of a run for the money because the 1st 2 games proved that there secondary is full of swiss cheese
If you vote for "probably win" and they lose, then you are wrong. Granted, less wrong than if you said "definitely win" but wrong nonetheless.
I don't like the way the Jets defense has given up a bunch of yardage in the second half of both games. To have a shot, they will need to make big stops multiple times. I don't see that happening right now.
I picked "I have no idea". Really, where the Chargers heads are going to be at is anyone's guess. They can say they're mad and focused, etc, but if something goes wrong for them late it might be "here we go again". We've had years like that ourselves--2007, 2005, 2003, 1999, 1997, 1996, 1995, 1994, 1993, 1992, 1990, 1989, 1988, 1987, 1984, 1983 1980 and 1979 come to mind, right off the top of my head.
thats the chris russo mentality there" mike, they need this game". I think the Chargers will win but saying they need it is kinda retarded. Jets need it too
