I've seen peoples comments here and there suggesting what there expectations for Sunday are, but would like to specifically ask you guys what your expectations are of this game Sunday. Do you expect the Jets to win/lose? Has that expectation changed significantly since Brady went down? What do you think your reaction will be if we win or lose? Personally I'm expecting a tight game, much like last week. The Pats are far more talented than the Lphins even without Brady, but they do have weaknesses. Without Brady, obviously the offense becomes less potent and more error prone, but I don't think they'll be stagnant. Not even close. Randy Moss and Wes Welker are still Randy Moss and Wes Welker. Maroney, Morris, Faulk (he's back for this game) and Jordan can definitely get the job done too. Their o-line is a little banged up and the blueprint for working them has been out since February. I expect that we should be able to get a decent amount of pressure. Defensively there front 7 is still very good even though the secondary is questionable. That's going to be the most important battle in this game IMO - how well can our o-line handle there front 7? If we can give Favre time in the passing game he should be able to take advantage of a secondary that is as good as Miami's at best IMO. If we can run the ball we should be able to control the clock and work some more play action. Once again (like last week) I see this coming down to who wins the battle in the trenches. The Pats are more talented so we'll have our work cut out for us. Having a real game under their belts should help the chemistry of all the new guys on our team, but they still aren't going to be as good as they can be. We're at home and it won't be 4000 degrees so that helps too. I can see this coming down to the 4th quarter with the winning team making big plays late in the game to seal the deal. If we win this game I'll still be very excited about beating the Pats, even if Brady isn't there. If we lose, I'll be disappointed but not shocked. I had them losing this game before the season but feel like we have a better shot now that Brady is down. I'm a bit worried that there are a lot of people expecting to just walk all over the Pats Sunday who will be completely miserable and in shock if we lose. Maybe a more cautious outlook would be prudent?
Expectations are simple. DOMINATION. No reason why the Jets can't. The Patriots were already a worse team that the 2007 one, now without Brady..... OUR TIME IS NOW.
I expect the defense to mature and play even better than they did against Miami. I'm looking for the jets to give up 13 pts--barring turnover points. I expect a better performance from the offensive line too. I also expect the fans to be going totally fu**in apeshit all fuckin game and to do their best at confusing cassle. I expect that if the jets lose, it will be a loss like it could have been in Miami--caused by no-confidence play calling.
Yeah. I agree with the above posters. I hope the stadium is so loud that our players just feed off that energy for at least the 1st quarter and put some points on the board. I'm kind of hoping the Patriots get the ball first and the noise helps put together a 3 and out. We need to keep their running game on check from the get go and force Matt Cassel to beat us. Our first drive is going to be key. If we can march on down the field and score, and challenge their offense to match our intensity and pressure them to put up points then Cassel could be in for a long day. Still, I see NE settling down and making adjustments by the half. This will be a true testament of how we keep teams at a distant and run away with the game. It won't be a walk in the park like many people think, cause after all, it is a Divisional game, but I see us walking away with a win.
LMAO i CANT WAIT to see the reaction from jet fans when they lose...ha:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:ha lmao u think you'll actually win without having to see Brady. Will still win! 40-3 Pats!
I expect a DEFENSIVE struggle. The Pats are STILL the Pats! ON PAPER they are STILL the superior team............Depends on what Favre can pull off and how our new guys come together ..........I'm looking for a BIG day from David Harris...I just want to be competitive with them at this point......I just hope we keep it close - then ANYTHING can happen!!!!!!!!!!! GO J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
why are u so arrogant about being a patriots fan you think your making us all mad your post don't even phase us.
Patriots 27-23 Tight from start to finish. I think the Pats will be out to prove something which will give them just enough of an edge this week. I think the outcome might be different if they played a few weeks further down the road, and maybe when they play the 2nd time.
I hope the Jets win and will be watching intently and having a good time like everyone else but this game I think will be Patriots 20-17. I don't see a ton of scoring in this game.
not to get off topic but whats the weather gonna be like. I heard it was going to rain, and i hope it doesnt. I think favre will throw 3 tds against there piss poor secondary.....Im just not sure what were going to see from the New England offense.
I think we are supposed to have sunshine all day...Favre will do that if the protection holds up.... a lot of running by that team. I wouldn't be surprised to see them try to tire out Jenkins with all the running they are going to do.
