Obviously the Jets are a team that made some big moves in the offseason after a dissapointing season. Before they got Brett I thought they would go 8-8 or 9-7. With the addition of him I think they will go 10-6 or 11-5 and lose in the second round. Anything past the 2nd round would be a great season in my eyes but for you guys what would be a successful season? A playoff appearance? Afc championship appearance? Or SB? I would sign for an 11-5 season right now. The AFC is really tough so it will be tough but if they get hot like the Giants ANYTHING can happen.
Playoffs is the goal. Coming off a 4 win season, anything after round 1 is just gravy. Let's be realistic, you don't go from 4-12 to Super Bowl in one offseason...
Unless you're the 99 Rams who won the SB following a 4-12 season.. The '88 Bengals lost the SB after a 4-11 season. Here's the whole list. Patriots 2000 5-11 2001: 11-5, ???? Bears 2000 5-11 2001: 13-3, ???? Saints 1999 3-13 2000: 10-6, Lost divisional round Colts 1998 3-13 1999: 13-3, Lost divisional round Rams 1998 4-12 1999: 13-3, Won Super Bowl Giants* 1996 6-10 1997: 10-5-1, lost wild-card round Chargers* 1991 4-12 1992: 11-5, Lost divisional round Broncos 1990 5-11 1991: 12-4, Lost AFC title game Bengals 1989 8-8 1990: 9-7, Lost divisional round Bengals 1987 4-11 1988: 12-4, Lost Super Bowl Colts 1986 3-13 1987: 9-6, Lost divisonal round Bengals 1980 6-10 1981: 12-4, Lost Super Bowl Bucs 1978 5-11 1979: 10-6, Lost NFC title game Colts* 1974 2-12 1975: 10-4, Lost divisional round Packers 1971 4-8-2 1972: 10-4, Lost divisional round
you know what...fuck the Super Bowl berth...i want a Super Bowl WIN!! I know it's a lofty goal..and i sound "unrealistic" to most of you....but seriously..I'm sick of hoping to be mediochre...if the fuckin' Giants can win with Eli....the Jets can certainly win with Favre!! :drunk:
Win the Super Bowl. As far as I'm concerned, that should be the case for every single team in the league.
Playoffs and if possible, all I want for xmas is to go to the AFC title game and a better record than the Packers. Early on, looking at this schedule I was predicting a 10-6 or 11-5 and that hasn't changed
dude...i live in Canada, trust me..there's no other beer out there. Although...i tried American beer...tastes like stale koolaid....i feed it to my dog when he's constipated  but back to the topic at hand......it's super bowl or bust, fellas.
It will always be more than we can get unless we win the super bowl. I remember watching the Packers last season and the general consensus was if we just make the playoffs we've had a successful season (since we didn't make it the year before and there were very few roster changes). But after a few wins you get spoiled and want more. Eventually making it to the NFC Championship game and losing was a disappointment. In hindsight it was a great journey and we were lucky to get that far.
