Culter's stock is dropping below Leinhart and Young now that the combine hype is dissipating. I think he would be a huge reach at # 4 and am not sure how he would do in the NFL. Mangold and White should both be there at # 35 thanks to White's dissapointing proday workout. If we picked one of them I wouldn't be too dissapointed but trading up to pick both of them would be a mistake. Also, if we do not improve our OL with at least one of our first three picks our QBs would get killed.
**TRUST ME, THIS IS OUR DRAFT** LOL! 1----4----AJ Hawk 1----29---Lendale White ** We have to draft at least one BUST** 2----35---Nick Mangold 3----97---Charles Spencer----OG 4----103-- Omar Jacobs QB 4----117--Babatunde Oshinowo DT 7----211--Gilbert Harris FB
I don't believe Cutler's stock is dropping that much. The only reason you don't hear that much about him is that Kiper is in love with Leinart and Young, and he's on the radio every 15 minutes now. Leinart I believe is the safest bet, but Cutler has more potential. I wouldn't go anywhere near Young. He played in a gimmick offense, where he'd check one target and then run. I especially would not touch him at the top of the draft. Cutler is still highly thought of by many. Chris Mortenson was on with Michael Kay on Tuesday and went on record saying he believes that Cutler is the best QB of the three. In fact he was raving about Cutler, citing how Cutler managed to be the Offensive Player of the Year in the SEC, one of the best conferences, on a bad Vanderbilt team. He went on to say that with the mentality of the fans today, there's a lot of pressure on the front office to take the big name, big school players, and that Phil Simms would never have gone #7 now a days because he was not from a big school. When Kay asked him, "If you're the Jets, and all 3 QBs are there at #4, do you still take Cutler even though the fans are screaming for Leinart." Mortenson said, "Absolutely you take Cutler. It would be stupid for a front office to listen to the fans." Now I'm not saying Mortenson is all knowing. I'm just saying that Cutler is still very highly thought of, and his stock is definitely not falling. Neither Mangold nor White will last to #35. If you wouldn't be upset with taking one of them at #29, why is giving up a late 4th round pick to secure a guy that fills a position of need and is at the top of his position a terrible thing? Last I checked, Mangold was an OL and I proposed to take him within the top 3 picks, giving us 4 solid starters along the O-line. The RT position could be filled by a FA to be or by O'Callaghan which I believe we can grab at the top of the 3rd round.
1st a) Mario Williams 1st b) LenDale White 2nd) Bobby Carpenter/DeMeco Ryans/Thomas Howard 3rd a) Max Jean-Giles (he goes in the 3rd in NFLDCs mock) 3rd b) Ryan O'Callaghan 4th) Drew Olson ^^That would be my dream draft.
I just don't see Culter as a top 10 player in this draft. As for Mangold and White: 1. How is RB a position of need when we are bringing Curtis Martin back this year? 2. Name one center picked in round one of the draft (besides Pittsburgh's center). 3. If we get White at # 29 or # 30 he will be the thirs or fourth RB taken. Not exactly the top of his position.
1) Martin will be 33 within a month, and is coming off of the worst season of his career. 2)Last couple of Rd 1 centers: Chris Spencer(Seattle-2005{David Bass went w/ pick 1 of rd 2 that year}), Jeff Faine(Cleveland-2003), Damien Woody (Pats-1999) 3)I meant Mangold as the top of his position. White would be the 3rd or 4th RB, but still be good value at #29.
