Well when you automatically label everything a mistake without merit, you eventually get some right. But you are not right in this case.

as I have posted twice already this summer TJ makes no one miss, nor does he pinball off tacklers like Chatman. TJ just looks lost, as he is doing this 2-3 yards thing and go down every time. If the jets had any balls they'd cut him, commit to Leon and Jesse and sign a late cut for insurance.

Peterson is averaging 2 yards a rush this preseason.. I think he was a bust, vikings should of never drafted him

I reject this sarcasm and take this as a serious statement.

Alright, we get the point. However, would you say that Jones has EVER looked good for the Jets? He just doesn't seem to do anything out there. He is slow, not shifty, and falls down way too easily.

You really need to find another sport to start following b/c u seem to be pretty clueless about football. Last year Thomas Jones had 1100 yards rushing behind one of the worst run blocking lines in the NFL, and maybe the worst pass blocking line in the NFL so the passing game couldnt take any pressure off TJ. Yes, Thomas Jones hasnt looked good this preseason with a better oline. But you fail to realize one major thing, its the PRESEASON, which means ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. The only people preseason games matter to are clueless fans like yourself who actually think they matter. Let me know if following hockey, basketball, or baseball works out better for you.

And dont bother coming up with your drivel that Leon had a higher yard per carry average last year behind the same oline. It is a lot easier to have a higher yards per carry when you have so few carries. Especially, when they come later in the game when your team is already down and the defense is getting tired.

Leon Washington should start for the Jets. Thomas Jones was never a great back. His lifetime average carry is just under 4 yards and he had a couple of nice seasons, but he's simpley just not that good of a back.

If you think Leon could take the pounding of a starting running back in the NFL you are very wrong.

Man....everyone needs to get off of Thomas Jones. Dude had over 1000 yards last year behind OUR OL!!!! It is PRE SEASON folks! At the time the trade was made, MOST of us thought it was a great move....MY opinion hasn't changed on that and I think he'll come around by the time the REAL games start.

ummm.. so we trade up to get mcfadden we wouldn't have keller right now, who was been pretty solid and VG, yeah he hasnt looked great, but hes coming around and looks better every game. as for jones, he was a steal, we got 1119 yards and all we lost was what? 11 spots in the second round?

5'8" and 210 lbs versus 5'10" and 220 pounds. Huge difference I guess.

1,100 yds behind one of the worst lines I have ever seen last season. Clearly he was doing something right for the Jets.

    Agreed.

I can remember many games last season where he was very good. For one I remember playing the Eagles in the Titans uniforms at home and TJ was a beast!

I'm not crazy about T. Jones as the starting RB but when your first,, second and third string RB can't do anything it is a problem with the run blocking, not the RBs. Everyone calling for Leon as the saviour of the running game, what exactly has he done to earn that distinction?

The run blocking has to get better.

Copy. Jones is a huge part of the offence, maybe they are running some vanilla plays for him to keep him healthy for the start of the season.

He had the 5th most attempts in football last year 310 runs and had 2 over 20 a terrible YPC and he was awful on the goal line.

The OL was bad, Jones doesn't run hard, he's slow and he doesn't move forward on the goal line or in short yardage situations.

We need production out of this guy or we should try and pick up a late cut and move him out.
