Yes, it is difficult for people that used to have disposable income to justify spending money on a preseason game. No I do not pass judgment on them as fans or otherwise. You know what, I am pissed that I wasn't. I'm not a season ticket holder but my son and I talked about going and decided there would be no chance to get a ticket to that game.
I was expecting more people to be there, but I can also understand why people didn't go. Some people may have planned vacations months ago for this weekend before they got Favre. One of the people I go with is taking a trip with his family to CA on the 23rd so he's going to miss the Giants' game. The vacation was planned, and paid for, months ago. If his vacation was starting one week earlier, he would be getting lumped in with all of the other fans that didn't go. The only thing that ever really disappoints me is that the stadium is so empty at the start of a game, but that's pretty much any Jets' game.

I wish he was wrong. Whenever I go to games the crowd is always arriving late after kickoff. people are always moving up and out of their seats more then any stadium I've been, to. And the crowd gets quiet very soon if the team isn't starting out well. Face it, a good portion of people there are Gaints or just NFL fans with no real interest in rooting for the Jets. It hasn't been the same since they left Queens/shea. The team has never had its identity back since.
Why dosn't Peter King rip the Giants? Their first preseason home is game going on right now is half empty. Its a damn preseason game, give it a break, we were all watching whether we were at the stadium or not! I hate Peter King and hate that I have to see him every week on NBC's football night in america.
Maybe if the NEW YORK JETS played in NEW YORK, more fans would have turned out for a preseason game, albeit Favre, etc. Its basically a 2 day ordeal for me to go to a game, and I ain't doing it for a preseason game, Favre or no Favre. The Jets organization, that decided to play in NEW JERSEY, deserves the jeers, not long suffering loyal Jet fans.

I guess we can mark this down as the first "Ticket holders owe it to the team" thread of the season. I'm firmly in the camp of "If you have tickets - do whatever you want with them - give them to Patriots fans for free. Burn them. Who cares?" I mean, it's great to have a big, loud crowd but people who want to be part of that can, often by paying inflated prices but that isn't the fault of the ticket holders.
