I am watching Pats preseason game now. Both their 1st unit and 2nd unit look like crap, they can not stop run, no pass rush.... down 0-17 to Tampa. I know this is only preseason, but looks like Gay Brady needs to out score other teams. I just hope they will play same defense in Week 2.

God, I really hate these guys.

I think Brady's ankle won't be completely healed for the season, and hurt is ability to step and throw.

He hasn't missed a game since he began to start. Perhaps that streak comes to an end??

The Pats are old, and getting older by the minute. I think last years superbowl loss is going to really effect them, this year.
I see us beating them at least in the home opener, if not a sweep. I truely believe it.

Yes, they look really old and slow during the game. It would be awesome to beat them. So I get a chance to bash these damn Pats fans at my work place.

Gay is gone, too, and they didn't replace anyone. Starting corners-Ellis Hobbs and...Fernando Bryant? Jason Webster? Starting safeties-Rodney Harrison and...James Sanders? John Lynch? Their secondary is a big weakness.

Their front seven is still nasty, but teams are going to be in attack mode, testing the secondary because you need 35 points to win. Combine that with a weak secondary and things could get mighty tough for the Pats D.

no there front seven is not nasty ....actually its just the front 3 and they have depth 2 go with it Jarvis Green their backup might be better for the 34 than any one of our ends... thats their strength on D... those are the guys who make it easy for the rest of them Warren Wilfork and Seymour is back...

I could respond to this, but that would require me to talk about why the Patriots are good and I am just not going to do that.

their front 3 are tops along with SD, but they are all getting old, and Seymour can't play a full season anymore.

The D is old, and Mayo won't be able to make a huge difference yet. Their Safeties blow, and Hobbs is the only guy who can kind of take care of someone. Throwing on them is the key, too bad Clowney went down, his speed alone could have hurt them.

As long as the front 3 are taken care of, the other 8 can't do anything to make up for it. Their young guys don't seem to be pushing to start. Its as if the well has gone dry with that team. I also read a lot of Pats fan e-mail about the O-Line trouble, add that in with Brady's ankle and thats a recipe for a 9 win season. Perhaps the GPC is underway...

Although, most teams that suck in the preseason do fine and make the playoffs anyway.

there's no way they can be better than they were last year, that goes without saying. but how that will affect them psychologically as they struggle in games and actually lose a few, is where they will suffer most, which will cause them to press at times and perhaps panic knowing they aren't unbeatable. I don't think there is any doubt that team hit it's peak last year and it is only downhill from there. are they still better than the Jets, though? probably.

This is going to be fun.............me the voice of reason go figure.

LOL I am not ready to go with the demise of that team. Geez that defense will not be on the field much with Brady as QB. They still have a front 7 that is as good as any 3-4 you can find. If we are going to say the Jets preseason (with all their problems) means next to nothing.....uhhhhh lets hold off on sticking a fork in the Pats since they deserve/get a shitload more leeway in the preseason race than our Jets. Brady has a way of changing the entire dynamic.

oh before I forget................. Patriots Nation NY, you rat bastard, you better not quote this............lol

You may well hate Bill Belichick and think he's a lying, cheating piece of shit, but it's hard not to laugh at something like this from the post-game:

If this was a regular-season game, would Tom Brady have played?
    It's not a regular-season game.

Are you concerned about him at all? How would you characterize the injury?
    I wouldn't characterize it.

Keep telling yourself that,:rofl: Jet fans do the same thing every single off-season, they come up with all kinds of reasons why the Pats will suck, then the season comes and reality sets in. Oh and if you don't think Mayo will make a difference this season, you don't know football, you'll be hearing his name talked about for DROY all year long. By the way, didn't the Jets draft some great pass rusher this year, hows that going?:rofl:
