Hey, guys, I made the trek to Jersey all the way from Eastern LI (hopefully I'll be able to make that trip a lot this year) but I'll report on how the atmosphere was tonight.

Until about fifteen minutes before the game, the place was empty, maybe 1/4 full. My dad turned to me and said, "this is the Brett Favre welcoming committee?"

But as we approached kickoff the place really filled up, I'd say it ended up about 3/4 full.

Brett Favre was announced as the starting QB, and was the last guy out of the tunnel, and the place erupted. Standing ovation, it was absolutely nuts. When Favre walked out on to the field, same thing. It was as if we had just won the Superbowl.

Everything else, including the TD was calm compared to that.

And by the way, does anyone have a torrent, I want to rewatch the game.

are we starting these kinds of threads in the preseason now? i mean during the regular season it's a given that there will be at least one thread a week bashing the fans for the stadium being empty at kickoff, but I've never seen one during the preseason.

I was actually impressed. 3/4 of the stadium is impressive. It was just funny how many people just made it in before gametime

yeah, if they never made the trade for Brett the stadium would have been 1/4 full at best

Oh yeah, I forgot about Jenn Sterger. She was absolutely brutal. She had trouble reading off of her cue cards, was mumbling, it was really a pitiful show.

Dude the stadium was pretty packed considering it's Preseason. Most of us left after the first half, as I started to zone out after the first quarter.

Overall, I think it was a great showing.

After all these years just annoucning the team as a team they are doing individual intros again? That's good to hear.

The Stadium is always empty until right around KO and after KO.

I thought last night was the one of the crowdest preseason games that I could remember in quite some time. As far as the Jenn Sterger thing goes - she was absolutely horrible, unless you just wanted sit there and look at her, then I guess it wasn't a total flop.

From watching on TV the place looked about half full. Very surprised at empty seats with Favre in Jets colors for the first time.

Yes, this is true but the place was not even 50% full.

I'm surprised more people didn't attend. What are the crowds typically like for a preseason game?

Not sure if anyone else who was there noticed, but Jet crowds have changed big time. My family has had these seats for 43 years and I never remember such a soft/non-Jets crowd for a home game.

Maybe I'm just a traditionalist but you couldn't even swear in my section without feeling like you were doing something wrong. It's a football game for crying out loud. I have a feeling this more "fan friendly" stadium BS takes away from the atmosphere. Yes I know many will take the other side and say we'd rather have it more friendly.

Still if you're a true lifelong Gangreen supporter I'm sure you know what I mean. Really sucks to see it.
