    It's only a couple of pre-season games against 2nd and 3rd stringers, but we've also heard a lot of TC praise about Ratliff. Don't forget he's also behind the 2nd/3rd string OL and passing to the 2nd/3rd string receivers.

    The important thing to notice about Ratliff IMO is that he is cool, calm, collected and making good decisions. He also isn't tripping over his own feet. Clemens does have experience as a starter that Ratliff doesn't.

    At this point, which QB would you feel more comfortable seeing behind Mangold in a game that matters if (god forbid) Favre went down?

    * Disclaimer:
    I understand it's only a couple of pre-season games, but feel like this is a valid question at this point.

    u got it perfect Ratliff looks calm and comfortable in the pocket while clemens looks like he is feeling pressure. Kellen didnt get help from his receivers tonight but i still think Ratliff should get 2nd

    Clemens.. for now. He played well enough as a starter last year. I'd trust him to continue to do so.

    Laugh all you want.. he played better than Chad and Chad is a good QB. He played well for being on such a crappy team, I don't see why everyone is so eager to forsake the guy when he's only played half a season.

    Ratliff by far...as you said poised, rocket arm, tall and pocket presence.

    I think he can learn a lot from Favre, bout time we get lucky with a find!

    For the record Clemens foot was stepped on by the center

    Clemens. We know what he can do against top tier defenses, and that's have success, as he proved against Pittsburgh and Baltimore. Ratliff is playing against 2nd and 3rd teamers. If Ratliff did this against 1st teamers, then I'd have more faith in him. But for now, Clemens.

    Thats the one thing I want to see. Ratliff against real competition. The small test this game was the 1 minute drill, which he owned completely. Now its time to see him up against good players. I have faith he'll do fine.

    He was the worst qb in the league in any statistical category you want to pick. How can you possibly classify that as "good".

    If the Jets did not pick up Brett and we had to rely on Clemens I think our record this year would be the same MAYBE ,,, Maybe a little better with the soft schedule. With that said I think we have a gem in the making with Ratliff. He will learn from Brett and only get better, true he will need real game experience but that will come with time. Maybe the pressure is getting to Clemens who has to see the writing on the wall. The Jets owe he nothing like they owed Pennington.

    I thought Clemens thew the ball well. It didn't look pretty, lots of drops and he had his foot stepped on a few times coming out but over all he didn't let it bother him and he got rid of the ball quickly and threw on target.

    I like Ratliff but he does stare his recievers down. I think both of them could pan out well for us.

    Alright saying he 'played well' wasn't the right choice of words. Keeping in mind his o-line last year had the integrity of a wet paper bag, I watched every game and nothing in his performance suggested he couldn't be a capable starter in this league. It's not about stats.. how can a player have anything but terrible stats when given those circumstances. Clemens was one very few elements on the team that didn't make me want to throw my tv out the window, run downstairs, and smash it to a million pieces with the wrath of Monthu and fury of a thousand sun gods. Jury's still out on Clemens, but Ratliff hasn't even played a real game and people are clinging to his nuts like they're getting paid. I like the promise the guy has shown too, but this is ridiculous.

    ehh.. to be honest, Texas isn't exactly known for it's quality herbs

    I take it you don't understand that there's a learning curve that only gets steeper when you play with a bunch of bottom feeders.
