I hope when the 'appropriate time' comes, Brett tells 'em all to kiss his ass.

Thats a soulless proposition. I can't believe Green Bay offered him that when he still wants to play.

This is why I don't understand why some idiots around here were calling him a "Sell out". A true sell out takes the 20 mil "marketing deal" and doesn't play football. He was following his heart and doing what he wanted to do even if it meant leaving GB.

Well I don't really get the sell out thing. However I would rather make the 26 mil hes slated to over 2 years or even the 38 over three than make 2 a year for the next 10 doing nothing.

no chance the offer will be $20m after he retires...that was inflated to keep him retired this year

They might have had some discussions in March, but no way was it for the money that they offered recently. They tried to pay him off to retire.

Depends on whether he gets that elusive 2nd ring with the Jets. At that point, who knows.

If he wins a SB with the NYJs he will easily make more then the Packers are offering thru endorsements, personal appearences, etc as he will then truly become a legend

the article said they offered him that shortly after he retired, or shortly before they knew he actually wanted to play.

The thing that angered me as a Packer fan, was the fact that FO kept upping the offer after they knew Favre wanted to play. Thats where it became a flat out bribe in my book.

Sounds like "we don't want you, BUT we want to own you" to me. Why would he take that when he wants to play. I'll never understand how the Packers could treat Brett like that!

I'll never understand how they could treat Brett that way either.

Actually, it was the arrogance of Thompson (the GM) that won out in the end. Ever since he came to GB, he wanted BF out. He handpicked Aaron Rogers and he wants it to be HIS team, not BF's.

You are all so lucky to have him now...please just take good care of him.

    GO JETS
