I'm so sick and tired of people bashing LC. The man has been the heart and soul of this team for the last three seasons. LC wears his emotions on his sleeve, theres nothing wrong with that.

Stop bashing our leader, he's allowed to be upset that his best friend for almost 9 years was released days before our first preseason game. He'll get over it.

Here?s a reminder from newyorkjets.com on how important our OFFENSIVE LEADER and CAPTAIN Laveranues Coles is!!

CO-SIGN. I completely agree with this. Also, People act like they have never lost their cool and overreacted to something that they probably should have ignored. Get over yourselves, people.

A team captin leads by example. his example is how everything effects him, not the team.
even a blind man can see the "team" benefits from the addition of Favre.

You want to be upset about losing your friend, that's understandable. you don't refuse to talk to the media, and cause a distraction, because of your personal feelings.

    He's a fag

    Edit:

Heart and soul of this team for the last three years…heart and soul of a team that won 18 out of 48 games…don’t nestle me up with his ‘contribution’

How about a counterpoint instead of insulting another member?

It's a sad state of affairs that the "heart and soul" of the team is a guy who would leave tomorrow for an extra dollar a year if he could.

Cotchery actually comes across as a guy who enjoys being a Jet and would like to be here for his entire career. I'd say he's more of a "leader" than Coles.

You're right in that he is overreacting to this. And yeah, he needs to start talking to the media like everyone else so that his dissonance doesn't become a distraction. I just feel like people are being disingenuous when they give you this self righteous nonsense that they don't understand how he could have an emotional reaction to someone taunting one of his best friends.

Until he starts acting like a captain, for instance, not swearing at a heckler, then the criticism should stop.

This guy should not be a captain this year.

Coles is not now nor as he ever been the heart and soul of this team. Give it a break. He is out for only one thing and that is himself. He left once (Washington) for a few more bucks and as it has already been pointed out, if he could he would leave again. He's a punk, that's all.

First of all Coles was traded from Washington, he did not leave.

Coles has not been the heart and soul of this team? Are you kidding me? Theres a reason the players on our 2006 playoff team voted him team MVP. Its clear you have not watched the Jets, so I wont argue.

^ Not traded – signed for the all mighty dollar as a restricted free agent. We had to trade to get his whining ungrateful as ass back.

And bashed us on the way out if I remember correctly.

Why does everyone rail on a player for going for the money? If Coles had an injury that brought down his performance, don't think that the Jets or any team wouldn't cut him.

Chad is not around the NYJs to kick around any more.

Insulting in the face of one of his friends, is a low blow to Coles.

Coles is a man who stands by his friends.

    Coles did the right thing.

The Asshole on the other side of the fence should have been thrown off the grounds for trying to disrupt practice with his taunts.

Well, I guess I need a seeing eye dog. A departing quarterback 6 years the junior of the arriving quarterback, #8 all time NFL career passer rating of 88.9 vs #16 @ 85.7

A 39 year old with one foot in the retirement grave for each passing moment at the
mercy of a rushing NFL lineman. Will he announce his retirement before or after the season ends? How many TD's vs INT's will there be to keep the fans from abandoning the Jet ship?
He being the one to prefer staying in the NFC, Jets being the 2nd class citizens? Had no choice? Needs the $$

Well, being blind I don't know what the color of money is, huh Brett?

i love coles as a player. He's a complete warrior on the field and has tons of heart. Too bad he can't shut his mouth in the offseason. Right now he is not acting like a leader. Moping around that Chad is gone even though the team is far and away better without him. He needs to be a leader and think about the TEAM. not himself

I hope you're not implying we gave him a new contract. When traded, you inherit the contract from the former team.
