I love ya Chad, you gave it all you had, you are a pro and a class act. but you will NEVER win a Champioship. Take your millions and enjoy life.
You should be greatful that you made more money than doctors or policemen or troops or teachers or sanitation workers or truck drivers or dispatchers or firefighters or receptionists or warehouse workers or farmers or stock brokers or small business owners or any man that busts his ass off eveyday trying to make a living. The fans that always cared for you.

You never know how things play out but this team looks to be solid up front with speed all over the place and finally a QB who can get the ball out to them.

It's up to the coaching staff to put it together but this is a significantly stonger Jets team personal wise than we have had in years and it was done in 3 off seasons. What was done last year and this year was incredible.

Chad is a classy guy with a high football IQ. I just don't think he has the athleticism for the job. He has the football smarts though.

And that was really my point, but BWAY sux was sounding waaaay too much like Champ69..

And in addition to Rhodes and Washington, I left out the three stars from last nights game...

But....IMHO no matter what the coaches tell you Football ain't rocket science.

Parcells has reclaimed 3 franchises from the scrap heap, following the same formula....

And refined it along the way.

You only need to understand how to make it solid....Then get Bigger and speedier..then lucky.

that is exactly correct. we were not going to wina trophy witha guy who can't throw outs, long with velocity, and who allows the other team to play safeties close to the line and shut down the running game.

last night, ratliff took advantage of the browns secondary with two long td passes that had zip on them. you would not see that with noodle arm in there.:jets:

Quote: Now I think there is a lot to the premise that our initial methodology as a team under BS' offensive strategy can be figured out and successfully defended against.

But this is true of any system. How you run it and vary from it in response to the defense's moves is everything.

Your quarterback has some limited moves he can make to do this. But I think it's really predicated on the soundness of your OL on that line of scrimmage. Without the time and the successful run as an alternative, the quarterback's options are severely disrupted, no matter how crafty or how strong he is.

Our losses in the playoffs referred to here were team losses, not talent losses. If it were the quarterback's fault alone, then any fool would have replaced the bastard forthwith.

The NYJs have needed to build a WHOLE team, not attract a star, to get over the hump of the playoffs. And they haven't done it. The better constructed high-chemistry teams have run over us like a sack of potatoes as a result.

This year I hope will be different. This Tangini regime has been diligently working on the whole team all year long. This year they cleaned out the treasury and went for broke in every direction that fortune presented to them. Johnson, Tannenbaum, and Mangini are in lock-step building a better WHOLE team.

Why not Pace? Why not Faneca? Why not Jenkins? Why not Lowery? and now, why not Brett?

    Okay!

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That's my whole point. Chad's defincincies go beyond Schott's. playcalling as you alluded to. They are the same as they were under Hackett and Dinger. Limited arm strength is going to paint any play caller into a corner, whether it is Bill Walsh or M. Martz, the options are severly limited, which impacts the rest of the offense.

And you refer to building a team vs. getting a star.

It appears to me that this front office is trying to do both.

** is better than Chad Pennington.
***you keep missing the most important part of the deal.
****you can rip Farve all you want...but it upgrades a position.
*****thats the role of the front office...to upgrade positions.

Thats why i actually like having him in the division. The half the fanbase that was always ranting about how this guy didnt belong in the league and was a joke of a quarterback is gonna have a tough pill to swallow if he beats us with the lowly dolphins.

I think I would cry if the dolphins beat us this year with him at QB. I, for one, still hate the dolphins more than I hate the patriots - In my opinion they are the Jets biggest historical rival, not NE. (Although I really fucking hate NE) When you add the Pennington aquisition to the mix, it makes the two dolphin games this year MUST WINS in order to maintain my sanity.

Actually, Pennington could have made those passes easily. They weren't 70 yard passes, they were 40 and a run. Anybody could have made that first one when the receiver was open by 20 yards. The problem is they probably wouldn't have called them. It's the passes that have to travel 60 yards down field he can't make.

This team needed overhauling too many poor players and not enough gamebreakers. Next out the door is that whiny bitch coles, i notice he is dropping comments again about being unhappy at CP treatment. This is not a yr 2000 draftee love fest Laverneus its a business , yes he is your best friend but get used to catching balls on the run not getting slammed into the turf by an ILB,SS,CB at the same time.

Chad had his chance and a combo of bad injuries and shocking coaching ( Pittsburgh!) meant he could never take us where we need to be. Good guy but at $6 million dollars for a guy who our best hope was 9-7 is not good enough . Whatever anyone thinks of Favre he is a huge upgrade who immediately lifts the team and franchise .This front office have been lambasted for years for doing nothing now they spend big and make a huge move and still people moan at letting poor old chad go!!

Nice guys get nowhere in sport they need to have the talent and winning mentality to go with it , as of 2008 Chad Pennington does not have either of the latter

I never really hated the Dolphins, I always felt the Raiders were by far our biggest rival. Davis is a Brooklyn guy and when the Raiders played the Jets in the early days it was all out war.

I still view the Dolphins as an expansion team wearing uniforms that make them look like a creamsickle.

Bang! Perfect, nailed it.. Thread over

You know what I love about this?

Now that Chad's a Fin, when I come out and speak the truth about how INCREDIBLY mediocre he forces a team's offense to be, I'm not going to get attacked anymore... I can dislike Chad in peace now!

And actually, now I have NO REASON to root for him, at all... Good riddance...

    Dear Winstonbiggs,
I have always hated the stinking fish. When Marino faked that spike I became an enemy.

When Vinny and the Jets were pulling off the Monday Night Miracle and Jason Taylor stayed miked up and pissed off for the whole game, I got up from watching in bed and opened a bottle of my favorite scotch, started yelling at the tv and got fully wasted in glee.

Everytime Mercury Morris opens his mouth about coming into his neighborhood I want to see him tackled from behind -- the most embarrassing thing that can happen to a speedster.

Now Chad's playing for the fish. He is as smart as a whip, and now he's grinning cotton mouth laying in wait for the teams he knows oh so well.

Yeah, it can get worse. Parcells is the one behind all of this.

Now three of the teams in the AFC East have his fingerprints all over them.

Some of us KNEW he could have gotten the job done, the only worry w/ Chad has always been health. He would have led us to 9-10 wins and unless Brett does better or gets us past the div rd this trade will not have been worth it except for the extra meaningless publicity.

I would love nothing better than Miami, Buffalo, NE and the Jets to have really good football teams and compete at the highest level every game.

The NFL is loaded with crappy teams and walk overs. We get 16 a year and if were lucky a couple of playoff games. I like good football, always have. Nothing better than watching two great teams battle it out and have to make great plays to win. The amount of bad football the NFL treats us to every week is a disgrace.

There is a reason guys who worked for Parcells are getting jobs all over the league. Nothing wrong with that.
